Six years ago, right around this time, I had two toddlers on my hips and a quiet but significant decision forming in my heart.

I’d been a pediatric Speech-pathologist for 11 years; I loved my work, but I longed to be home more and to finally pursue my passion for photography.

In January 2020, I left my kids for the first time and drove to Rosemary Beach for a photography retreat. I learned not just how to shoot, but how to run a business, and serve clients well.

The following month, I attended a retreat in Franklin, Tennesse with . The conversations and mentorship( hey ) I received there changed everything. I came home with clarity and a plan. I was going to specialize in Fresh 48 photography.

And then, within a week, the world shut down.
I pivoted to virtual speech therapy for my pediatric patients and leaned fully into life at home with my family. That summer, I photographed generously, often for free, and met incredible people. I learned to shoot in every kind of light, space, and circumstance. Most importantly, I gained certainty. This was it. This was the work I loved and my business was born.

Six years later, I can honestly say I have never once complained about going to work. When I say I love what I do, it’s an understatement.

If there’s anything that season has taught me, it’s that following a dream rarely looks and unfolds the way you expect it to. It asks for patience, humility, and a willingness to keep going even when the plan falls apart- and a TON of trust in God.

I am endlessly grateful for the doors He closed, the ones He opened, and for the clients who trusted me along the way.
Especially those who have been here since the very beginning. Thank you for being part of this story. 🥲
