Reintroducing myself but this one just a little different, more personal!
Iโm Britany aka Bri ( not Brit, it gives me the ick)
Reside in the state of FL with my husband and our 2 kids. My husband and I started out in our late teens, and now we are knocking on 40s door. I was born in KS, and moved here when I was 6 (yes I know we are not in Kansas anymore , Iโve heard all before)
Iโm a registered Cherokee Indian, some of my favorite childhood memories are from being a powwow dancer. Iโm also a whole lot of Italian and probably a little bit of everything else tbh!!
By day, I work in the medical field as a medical assistant. To be blunt, I hate it After 14 years, Iโm burnt out!
But thatโs not why I like photographyย
Photography was first introduced to me by my grandfather, who loved nature photography. Around 2016, he gave me his old camera. I picked it up a few times, but never really dove into.
That changed in 2022, 7 months after my daughter was born.
She was diagnosed with a rare medical condition that completely changed our world. To keep it simple, Sheโs missing an enzyme that helps remove ammonia from her body. If not managed carefully, it can become life threatening.
Her care involves a strict low protein diet, specialized medical food, and constant monitoring because even something as simple as a cold can put her at risk.
Sheโs also incredibly sensitive to sounds, textures, and certain environments. Iโm a huge advocate for autism awareness, and while it was ruled out for her, she carries many of those traits.
Photography found me in the middle of that grief.
In those dark moments..when I was grieving the version of motherhood I thought I would have.Picking up that old camera and taking photos of her gave me peace. It silenced the chaos. It helped me focus on her as my daughter, not her diagnosis.
Now I love photographing couples, maternity, and bo***ir and bringing my own creative energy to life.
I love the connection, the emotion, and the storytelling behind it all.
Photography became more than pictures for me it became healing, purpose, and home!
So if youโre here, thank you!!
Iโm really glad you are.
