Few pics of hiking around the refuge. Saw a kewl lizard and the most brightly colored moss. Bouldered to the top of Eagle mountain. Fun day exploring that also led me down an interesting path…

After leaving the NW Arkansas area, I came down with covid. That wasn’t much fun, but it did give me a chance to figure out my next stop.

I found a place where the Bison roam free, so I had to check the Wichita Mountain Wildlige Refuge in Oklahoma. I read American Buffalo by Steven Rinella a few years ago. It gave me a whole new appreciation for these magnificent creatures and the history of these animals.

After seeing Hemmed In Falls, I decided to go waterfall chasing. Early spring in Arkansas is prime time for that. I hiked to Twin Falls and also went to Lost Valley to go find the infamous 70ft waterfall in a cave.

It wouldn’t be a trip to Arkansas, without a stop to my favorite river, the Buffalo in NW Arkansas. Maggie and I floated the Ponca to Kyle’s landing, which features the tallest waterfall west of the Mississippi.

1st stop was my favorite state near MO, which is Arkansas. Decided to check out a few waterfalls that were flowing in the spring time. This one is called Sweden falls. I’ll post a video of it flowing next.

1st day of taking off on the long trip. It was a whole family affair getting the last few things buttoned up on the van. Installing the solar panel and finishing up the window covers.

Left out on April 1st and called a friend in the 1st hour saying my van had broke down before leaving the county. I’ve always been one for excellent April fools day jokes. 😂😎

So I have this weird goal to try many different types of travel. So I knocked off a train trip to New Orleans in between preparing for van life and selling my house in Lebanon.

In case you haven’t figured out, I’m a sucker for creepy cemeteries. Something about the stillness and all of the angles/lines of the tombstones just excites me. I think the STL cemetery in Nola has been my favorite thus far. I did take some creative liberties and dramatized it up per normal. Also included some pics of a famous Spanish Moss tree and some street art located around the Big Easy. 😎

These are a few pictures of the down time between getting the van and taking my long van trip across the southwest. Spent time with loved ones, selling off/donating 90% of my stuff, and selling my house in Lebanon. I also managed a quick trip NOLA by train whilst doing all of these grown up things. March 2022

My last sunrise at Big Bend was pretty cool. I came across these wild horses as I was driving out. Stopped and took a few pictures of these magnificent creatures with a beautiful sunrise backdrop.
