Recently I had this beauty in my studio because she needed a 'me' day.

She'd had a tough few years with life just being a lot (anyone relate?). During that time, she'd found a lot of comfort in reading. Now she's coming out on the other side stronger and ready to celebrate!

So she came to me with an idea of showing off some of the books that meant the most to her, but wasn't quite sure how to do that.

That got me thinking... why not a little bit of everything?

We did it all: from cool book nerd (totally channeling Seventeen magazine vibes), to soft romantic heroine (Anne of Green Gables, anyone?), to world conquering main character.

It was such a blast celebrating this woman by creating portraits that showed off so many different sides of what makes her special.

It was the absolute most perfect day possible to have a wedding!

And I couldn't imagine it happening to a nicer or sweeter couple than Emma and Spencer.

There were so many personal touches (including their wedding happening in their own backyard).

I'm talking custom cake toppers of their pets, memorized (tear-jerking) vows, handmade ribbon wands, custom cocktails at their favorite restaurant during the reception, and I could go on and on!

Truly everything was so well thought out that it was honestly... perfect!

Had little miss personality in studio today and we obviously had a terrible time.

She wanted something fun, flirty, and candid feeling for her shoot. I think we nailed it!

Mood words really help set the stage for creating your dream shoot. I have a whole list of words I can send to inspire clients to find their photoshoot vibe. It's just one of the ways I help curate exactly what you have in your head and turn it into a reality.

I love helping my clients LOVE their photos because they feel like THEM.

It's no secret that I love photographing in my studio, but I also do on location portraits.

Especially when my subject asks if she can bring her Harley to the shoot. How cool did these turn out?

This week has been full of creativity and energy in the studio.

A repeat client came in wanting to celebrate the diagnosis of a medical condition that had all the doctors scratching their head. After an unsuccessful procedure last fall, she finally had a success this spring and is already feeling like a new woman!

She wanted a photoshoot that represented 'breaking through' to this new chapter where she isn't constantly wondering:
"What is wrong with me? Why do I feel like this?"

Instead she is able to step out from behind the curtain and take life by the horns.

So I brainstormed and came up with this set to give her exactly what she wanted.

It was so fun to create this concept for her and then execute it together. I had chills!

That thing where you are going trying to scan through the hundreds and hundreds of photos you took at the most precious, meaningful wedding ever for a preview and it is just... TOO HARD!!!

Selecting a sneak peak is always challenging, but when you have a couple that is literally living their personal fairytale it is unreal.

I'm sure you can tell from these photos that this was a day full of joy, S T U N N I N G details, and so. much. love!!
