When I restarted my photography journey, I was shooting on my 10 year old Canon Rebel T3. She was old, but she still worked and that was enough for me at the time.
My family saw how serious I was about coming back, and they gifted me a Rebel T7… such a big upgrade for me then. Even with that camera I felt a little professional 😅
I didn’t even have a car. I was charging next to nothing for my sessions and using that money to Uber to my shoots… and then Uber back home. Every session paid for the next ride. Those uber rides thought me to always leave early before sessions because the time it gave me to scout the areas helped a lot!
But I was passionate. I wanted this so bad, and I didn’t let my circumstances become an excuse.
There were so many moments I wanted to give up. Like soooo manyyy moments!!
Last year, I wrote down my goals to capture more events and weddings. I told myself I was ready for more, even if it scared me.
And now… I’m living in the very dream I prayed for. The one I worked so hard for.
I started booking events, then elopements, got my first second shooting opportunity… and now I’m booking full day weddings.
I upgraded to a mirrorless camera because I want to give my clients the best experience I can. And yes… we finally got a car 😂
Looking back at where I started, I’m just so thankful for the growth.
If anything, I hope this reminds you to go after what’s on your heart. Even when it’s hard. Even when it doesn’t make sense yet.
With prayer and hard work, your dreams are possible.
Thank you to the clients who gave me the chance to capture their events, elopements and weddings, for the opportunity to grow and Thank you God for everything 🤍
