Mannnnnnn, it didn’t start out as a good day, but I did my best to make it work!! Met a group of GREAT young adults going to prom and had fun!! I would definitely like to thank my babygirl for HELPING me… she helped with some poses, fixing dresses and pointing stuff out before I even saw it!! 😍😍

Ummmm, I would also like to point out, it’s been 17 YEARS since our Senior Prom!! 😳😳 SHEESH!!

I wasn't able to post any photos from my the trip a few years back because of I respect my client's privacy (they were some of my absolute favorite client's!)!! Here are a couple of my favorite shots I captured while in Chicago!! Photography really is an escape for me and I can't wait to post more photos. I'm working on some things, but this trip was definitely one for the books!!

My eye catches different angles and sees differently than others, but when I'm able to capture how I ACTUALLY view it, I'm excited and overjoyed sometimes!!

HEYYYYYY Y'ALLLLL!! **Long Post Alert**

Here is the reason I've been soooooooo quiet and not posting as much!! I have been trying my hand at Sports Photography, but this time with a pretty challenging TWIST!! Indoor Photography with absolutely horrible lighting, while players are in MOTION... who would've thunk it?? Not only has it been a challenge to capture these AMAZING Volleyball ladies, I'd say it's a bit easier than Soccer.

These ladies have such amazing talent!! I have taken this season to learn the terminology, the players (most of them) and HOW CRAZY HIGH THEY CAN JUMP!! Please just take a moment to scroll through and tell me what you think... I noticed some things need to be changed on a few, but this is what I've been working on. {{Oh yeah, I got parent permission to post before sharing!! Y'all know I can't post ANYONE'S child without PARENT PERMISSION... doesn't matter if they're in a school event or not... I have to respect their wishes!!}}

I have over 2,000 photos to go through from TWO games, but I had to take a step back from taking their pictures to focus on some personal matters. I'm working on those this weekend and I'll be trying to capture their last two games (one in Williston and the other at home)!! Maybe I'll do my best to get some shots at the tournaments too!! But, we'll see!! I'm actually enjoying these action shots MORE!!

**QUESTION: How much would you pay for a shot of your child playing a sport??**
I'm thinking about charging per photo, but unsure how much to charge for each photo/how to bundle them of multiple players...

I was honored when my cousin asked if I could do her little man's newborn shoot!! Takai Daveon entered this world on July 2nd and is just the sweetest little guy!! I was able to capture a couple of him smiling (he smiled more once my camera was put up 😂😂)!!

Mya, I am so proud of the mother you are and I'm glad you have your hubby there with you too -- I can tell he loves all of y'all!! I have *literally* watched you, near and far, grow up right before my eyes!! You are doing an amazing job with babygirl and now you've got a sweet boy!! Continue being a great mom to those sweet babies!!

One of my younger sister's Gender Reveal!! I'm so proud of the young woman she's becoming!! You're about to step into Motherhood and I couldn't be more excited for you!! This babyGIRL is already so loved and while she's taking her time to bake, I'm excited to meet her!! Thank you for inviting myself and Kaliyah, we had a blast!!

**Light Painting**

I FINALLY got to play around with Sparklers and my camera last night - I couldn't sleep, so I decided to go outside and experiment!! I'm so proud of myself. I pressed the button and everything. I'm definitely planning on doing more experiments too!!

The angles were off - I couldn't see ANYTHING on my camera screen lol - sooooooo, PLEASE don't come for the heart!! Lol!! I'm going to try and do more another night soon!!

✨ Before & After ✨
This sweet baby boy was just a couple of days old when we did his session, and like many newborns, his delicate skin had some normal baby acne and tiny scratches. Totally real. Totally beautiful. 💛

But one of the behind-the-scenes parts of my job is gentle retouching—removing distractions while keeping that soft, natural newborn glow.

Before I do any edits like this, I always check in with parents to make sure they *want* those changes made. Some families prefer to keep every little detail just as it is—and I love honoring that, too. 💕 (More extensive edits may come with a small fee, depending on what’s needed, but it’s ALWAYS your decision!)

Every detail you see in the final image was carefully edited by hand, with love and intention. The result? A timeless portrait that lets his sweet expression shine through.

Everyone, meet Joshua!!
I’m so honored this sweet mama trusted me to capture her precious baby boy—just TWO days new! 🧡 I brought my portable studio and was able to document some incredibly special moments I’m truly proud of.
This image right here? One of my absolute favorites from the session! I can’t wait to share more soon! (And don’t worry—Instagram crops a little tight, but the full photo has both parents’ hands beautifully included!)

Photography is not giving up on a shot when you REALLY want to get that shot!!
Photography is being patient and waiting for the RIGHT shot.
Photography is going through your images and SEEING THE SHOT!!

STORYTIME:
While I was outside of the library waiting on a friend, I was outside capturing some photos...the flowers started to bloom, I was able to get some of the flowers, then I saw the bees!! I chased these bees around for like 30-45 minutes. I think this is probably THE BEST shot I was able to get of the bees. I tried to stay patient, even though I was talking trash the whole time... I took several shots because once they got all the pollen, they flew away SO FAST... I was mad!! Enjoy Mr. Bee... I'm going to get this one printed and framed soon!! It's Pollen Season - make sure you're taking a spoonful of your LOCAL HONEY and/or taking your allergy meds!!
