The Burkes in early November at Holy Cross Catholic Church and The Depot || A day full of love, tradition, beauty, and Christ at the center. From the soaring apse adorned with angels where the two took their vows to the warm glow of their reception with their loved ones, every detail was simply perfect. I will forever love this day and these two.

Summer and JP on the northwestern shore of Lake Delavan in early September || A beautiful, windy day with a golden-lit ceremony that turned into an evening steeped in wine and cigar smoke. It was a classic, timeless, detail-rich wedding day. Cheers to the Peters, forever and ever.

There’s some new faces around these parts so I figured it’s time for my annual introduction post.

Howdy! I’m Sophie.

I’ll keep this somewhat short and sweet, but I love creating heirlooms out of moments, big and small, to be passed on for generations. We live in an arguably over-documented world, so I do my best to capture life in a tasteful and artistic manner. To photograph a moment is to approach it with the greatest intentions and purpose.

Now for a little “Sophie’s Favorites” list:

- Right now, I listen to a lot of Marty Robbins and Logan Ledger
- Go-to coffee order is a hot or iced decaf americano (depending on the season)
- My favorite place on earth is the St. Croix River
- Outside of photography, I love volleyball, crosswords, and evening bonfires
- I live in a small town in western Wisconsin with my sweet husband Nicholas (thanks for the pics!!) and lil poodle Futon

VALENTINE MINI SESSIONS❤️🕊️💌🫶🏻

Are you looking for some photos with your honey leading into the Valentine's season? This is your chance! Bundle up in your coziest sweaters, hats, and mittens for a romantic winter afternoon. For twenty minutes, I'll guide you and your partner through some easy, natural poses and will show you around the beach of the St. Croix Boom Site just north of Stillwater. Between the ice of the St. Croix River crunched against the shore, the expanse of sky overhead, and the solitude of the Boom Site in February, this is a perfect place for some quick photos with your love. A lovely summer day in rural Wisconsin, celebrating the love and union of Abby and Mason.

Abby got ready with her girls in her family’s home and then married Mason on her family’s farm. The tall grasses whipped in the wind and the barn was the main source of shade. And it was perfect. Then, it was off to downtown Tomah to party with their closest friends and family. I was so blessed to have been invited to play this role in their day.

A God-centered, windy, sunshine-drenched, beautiful day for two beautiful souls.
