For years Iβve turned down wedding inquiries, believing it just wasnβt for me because the pressure would be too intense. After all, Iβd found a niche with senior photography that brings so much joy and fulfillment (and that hasnβt changed; seniors are still my fave). But two years ago, I decided I wanted to learn more about wedding photography, and I was blessed to start working alongside my now-dear friend Lana Tyler Trahan as one of her assistant photographers. After the first year, I vividly remember telling her that even though I loved helping with her weddings, I didnβt see myself ever trying them on my own (the pressure is, in fact, quite intense π€£). But this past spring, something started to shift in my spirit. I prayed some really specific prayers that got answered in some really specific ways, and before I knew it, I had three weddings on my calendar as lead photographer.
This was the first one.
I learned so much from this experience, and while there is still so much left to learn and master, Iβm tremendously proud of the final gallery. And that fact means everything to someone like me who tends to fear that sheβs never quite βenoughβ and lives hyperaware of all the things she wishes sheβd done differently.
