There’s something about gardens like this that feels completely outside of time. 🌿

The kind of beauty that doesn’t need to be perfectly manicured or overly posed, it just exists, quietly, and gets better with age.

This is exactly what I love about film photography. The softness, the imperfections, the way it makes an ordinary moment or place feel like something you’ll want to remember forever.

A little nostalgic, a little romantic, and completely timeless.

It doesn’t matter what year these photos were taken. What matters is that they still feel beautiful, emotional, and timeless years later.

That’s one of the most important things to consider when choosing a wedding photographer. Trends come and go—editing styles, poses, colors, and compositions—but your wedding photos should never feel stuck in a certain year.

When you look back at them 10, 20, or 50 years from now, you should still see your people, your emotions, and your story—not a photography trend.

Don’t just choose a photographer whose work you love today. Choose someone whose work you can imagine loving for the rest of your life.

Simple moments. The beauty of everyday life. 🤍

Who would have thought that years later, you’d become our neighbors? Life has such a beautiful way of bringing people back around—and sometimes the sweetest moments are the ones you never could have planned for.

You don’t need to know how to pose for your engagement session

Your photographer should direct you rather than expect you to magically know what to do.

The best photos often come from movement and interaction.

Walking, talking, laughing, dancing, and simply being together create natural images.

Engagement sessions are also a chance to learn how your photographer works before the wedding.

Wedding day vibes for Juliet & Will 🤍

One of my favorite things to encourage my couples to do is take 5–10 minutes completely alone together on their wedding day.

No timeline. No guests. No distractions. Just the two of them taking a breath and soaking it all in.

And yes, we get some of my favorite photos during this time—but more importantly, it gives them a chance to pause and actually feel the moment. Because the day goes by way too fast. ✨

Bridals are always a yes with me.

They are not for everyone, and I get that.

But remember your bridal editorial session is the last photography shoot you will do before you are married.

Not only does it allow you to see your entire look before your wedding but it allows for the time for photos, as much time we have on the wedding day there is always something that puts everyone running late and these photos are the ones that get taken out.

Enjoy being a bride, its a once in a lifetime experience.

Sometimes you don't get the wedding day portraits you dreamed of. And that's okay. 🤍

It poured on Sophia & Garrison's wedding day. And when I say poured...outdoor wedding + pouring rain = we weren't going anywhere.

We had the time, but Mother Nature had other plans. So how'd we get these portraits of just the two of them?

A newlywed session.

They put their wedding attire back on, slowed down, and got real time together without a timeline, without guests, without rain.

And honestly? I love this option.

Some of the best portraits happen when nobody's rushing you from one thing to the next.

If rain changes your plans on the wedding day, it doesn't mean you miss out on those just-married portraits. We can always make more magic later.

Want your getting-ready photos to feel elevated and polished?

I recently photographed a wedding where the bride had a separate suite just for photos and it made SUCH a difference.

The girls could get ready in one space, while the photo suite stayed clean, calm, and completely free of clutter. When it was time for photos, we had a beautiful space ready to go without having to spend time cleaning up first.

And you don't need a separate suite to do this! Even having one designated room or corner that stays clean for photos can make a huge difference.

A few other little things that make getting-ready photos look so much more polished:

✨ Keep the room clean and picked up
✨ Have matching robes or pajamas
✨ Steam your robes and pajamas ahead of time
✨ Get ready near beautiful natural window light
✨ Keep bags, food, cups, shoes & random belongings out of the background
✨ Have all your bridal details together in one place
✨ Skip the socks and slippers for photos

And yes... I know everyone complains when I ask them to take their socks and slippers off. 😂

But trust me it makes such a difference!

Bare feet or clean, intentional footwear keeps the photos looking cohesive and polished. Socks and fuzzy slippers can be cute for hanging out, but when you're looking back at your getting-ready photos years from now, you'll be glad you took the extra two minutes to take them off.

And my biggest tip?

Think about the photo space BEFORE your wedding morning.

The little things you don't notice while you're getting ready wrinkled robes, water bottles, makeup bags, shopping bags, food containers, socks and slippers, can become very noticeable in photos.

You don't need a perfectly styled luxury bridal suite.

You just need to be intentional about where the photos are happening.

Because these photos aren't just about pretty details. They're the beginning of your wedding story.

Save this for your wedding morning!

When we’re behind the camera, anticipating the right moment, holding our breath to steady our hands, we get so drawn into the moment it’s almost as we’re living it out with you. That’s why it looks like a memory, because it is. It is art.

Stole a glance through the doorway and caught this.

Nobody posed for it. Nobody knew I was there. Just a groom who couldn't help himself and a bride who felt like she was floating.

This is why I shoot documentary. You can't fake this.
