No forced smiles.
No telling them to “stop moving”.
No bribing them with snacks. (They get to enjoy them during the session.)
No pretending everyone enjoys matching outfits.

just your people being your people: laughing, running, cuddling, being weird and creating the kind of chaos you’ll miss someday.

Actors are some of my favorite people to photograph.

Give them permission to be colorful, a little dramatic (sometimes a lot dramatic) and completely themselves… magic happens.

Headshots don’t have to be stiff, boring, or look like you’re waiting for the DMV to call your number. Let’s bring in the color, the personality, and all the little quirks that make you you. Whether you’re the dramatic lead, the lovable sidekick, the villain with excellent eyebrows, or the comic relief, your headshot should feel like you walked right out of the frame.

Life’s too short for beige headshots.

So here’s to bold colors, big dreams, and the performers who make the world a little more magical (and a lot more entertaining).

If you had told me we’d spend an afternoon wandering Camp North End in 90° heat with a big group of cousins having the BEST day together… I wouldnt have believed it would have gone so smoothly. 😂

Not one complaint. Not one “Are we done yet?” Just cousins who hadn’t all been together since COVID, soaking up every second like they’d never missed a beat. (Some of them were babies during that time and meeting for the first time)

The best part? This whole session was a secret.
They planned it together with their great aunt and parents as a surprise for their grandma. Then somehow managed to keep it quiet for an entire month (which honestly deserves an award all by itself). 🤐

When they finally gave her the photos, and I got the sweetest message afterward. Happy tears, lots of them. She was completely beside herself.

These are the sessions I’ll never get over. The ones that aren’t just pictures… they’re love letters disguised as photographs.

For the last couple of weeks, I exchanged my camera (until yesterday) and picked up paintbrushes, power tools, and approximately 47,392 staples. (Don’t fact-check that.)

Helping bring Lanti Performing Arts Mamma Mia! to life. Working behind the scenes has been the best reminder that community theatre is basically a bunch of people saying, “Sure, I can figure that out,” until suddenly... there’s a Greek island on stage.

I spend a lot of my life telling stories through my camera, but it’s really fun to help build the story that happens in front of the lens too.

Community theatre is full of people giving up evenings, weekends, and probably a little bit of their sanity to create something that brings joy to complete strangers. That’s a pretty incredible thing to be part of.

So if you need an excuse to sing ABBA songs at the top of your lungs (or at least quietly in your seat), come support local arts. You’ll leave smiling, humming the music, and maybe wondering if you, too, should own a staple gun.

Bring the dog (and the dog hair), the colorful socks, the side eyes, the chaos, and the real laughs. We’ll get the smiling-at-the-camera photo... but we’ll also make room for the moments that actually feel like your family.

Fall family photos don’t have to be all burnt orange, chunky sweaters, and sweating in pants.

Charlotte families… we’re in the South. It’s still 87° in October.

Let’s skip the “everyone say cheese” part and just let your family be your family. Barefoot, laughing, chasing the kids, snuggling, being wonderfully weird... that’s where the magic lives.

If your kid shows up to photos determined to bark like a dog, wear a superhero cape with rain boots, or spend 20 minutes introducing me to a stick they named Steve… Im not concerned, its better than I would’ve imagined our session going, I’m taking pictures!
