February 1st, 1975, I started a photography studio in Lanett, Alabama. And here I am, 50 years later, still photographing. Although I no longer have a big studio, I do have a “little studio in the woods”!
I want to thank all the people who helped me, encouraged me, and supported me during this time. My dad - Howard Mason, Mr. Bill Gilbert, and Mr. Don Downs, and many others helped me build my business. Thanks also to the people that allowed me to photograph them and make “memories to last a lifetime”.
During these 50 years I photographed over 1,300 weddings, thousands of babies, families, anniversaries, proms, cotillions, seniors, sports teams, and more. I had many wonderful employees from the beginning, too numerous to name. Thank you all.
Thanks to my wife, Suellen, and my two sons, Stuart and Spencer, for helping me and putting up with my many long days and weeks. Although I have cut back on the number of jobs I do each year, I’ll probably always continue to photograph, especially my beautiful grandchildren!
