Alexa & Kalib | Chapter 1
(Finally) sharing these for two reasons.
1. Because I finally had the willpower to make a decision on which ones should be the cover photos lol but more importantly,
2. To shout from the rooftops how damn grateful I am for
I have had debilitating medical anxiety since I had to stop going to my childhood pediatrician (Love u Dr. Joshi). From ages 21-30, the only time I went to the doctor was to do telehealth when I knew I had a sinus infection (other than I was pregnant obvy, but that was a big hurdle to overcome too lol love u Katie Towles!!!).
Earlier this year during a headshot session where we talked in person for the first time, Alexa said “As soon as I’m able to start taking patients, you’re coming to see me and we’re getting you right because you are unwell and I can fix you.”
And she has. I mean, I’m currently pretty broken lol BUT she’s gone above & beyond time and time again the last three months to advocate for me with insurance, pharmacies, and really tbh advocate for me to myself too and I am so so so sosoososososo thankful to finally have a provider that I can trust, that knows how to ask the questions that I forget to provide answers for upfront because of said medical anxiety. Mike didn’t have medical anxiety lol but he’s switched to her too and even though he thought he was fine and didn’t realize he needed to feel better, one appointment with her and she asked questions that switched his regimen and he didn’t know it was possible to feel as good as he is right now.
So this is just my public service announcement to not accept sub-standard medical care and to stop not taking care of your body because you’re scared of the big bad medical industry, and find your practioner person so they can change and save your life like Alexa did mine.
And also, GOSH THEY’RE HOT and I can’t wait for their wedding.
