I’m deeply saddened to hear of the passing of this amazing dog, Skylar. I was barely a blip on her radar, but she left an indelible mark. 🌈🐾🌈

I believe sustainability extends beyond the mindful exchange of materials, meeting the needs of the present without compromising the needs of the future. Sustainability exists also in the hearts and minds of those facilitating the exchange of ideas, love for earth and her inhabitants, and a desire to think mindfully through all of our processes, paying close attention to the decisions we make and the impact they leave.

Frosty & Brownie (I’ll bet you can guess who is who) are not big fans of getting their annual shearing. And for all their effort, it broke my heart to think that their alpaca wool would go to compost. So I asked if I could give the wool to a local sustainable furniture maker.

Sunlight carries context. Everyday, it shines on the people of the world, all living different lives, and experiencing different emotions. The energy of those emotions resonance with the frequency and vibration of the light from the sun, forever encapsulated in those light waves, yet gone in a matter of moments.

These photos are just photos to most people. Two different times of day, two different days of the year, two different yet profound moments in my life: The morning of the birth of my youngest son, and the day of my father’s death.
