BO***IR MISCONCEPTIONS
There are a lot of misconceptions about what I do.
Some people think it’s just about taking “sexy photos.”
Some think it’s about nudity.
Some assume it’s incompatible with my faith.
And honestly… I understand why. If you’ve never experienced a bo***ir session, it’s easy to make assumptions from the outside.
But here’s what I’ve learned after photographing hundreds of women over the last 15 years…
A bo***ir session isn’t really about the photos.
It’s about the woman standing in front of the camera.
It’s about helping her quiet the voice that says she’s not enough.
It’s about watching her shoulders relax, her confidence grow, and seeing her realize she’s been beautiful all along.
I’ve laughed with women.
I’ve cried with women.
I’ve prayed with women.
I’ve celebrated women.
I’ve watched women heal after divorce, abuse, cancer, body dysmorphia, addiction, grief, and so many other life experiences.
That’s why I do this.
Over the next few weeks, I want to share more about my heart behind this work.
Why I believe what I believe.
What actually happens during a session.
How my faith has shaped my work.
Why I believe there’s a difference between art and po*******hy.
And why I don’t believe the human body was ever meant to be something we only see through the lens of shame.
You don’t have to agree with me.
But I do hope you’ll get to know my heart before making assumptions about my work.
I’m looking forward to sharing it with you. And diving deeper into this. But let me know - what misconception do you feel or see the most? Which one surprises you?
