Introduction Part 3- Fern Photography was born: So how did I come up with the name āFern Photographyā? I knew that I didnāt want my business name to just be (insert my name) photography (no shade to photographers who do this!) Letās be honest.. how many Hannahās do you know? Personally I know a few, so just having my name be my business name was not unique to me or representative of what I wanted for my business. In reference to part 1, I mentioned that I love outdoors and hiking. There is one specific hiking spot in Lafayette that is my favorite and there just happens to be the most gorgeous ferns growing along the trail. I often caught myself being infatuated with the ferns along this trail, filling my camera roll with photos of ferns, thus the name Fern Photography fit the best for me! (Iām going to hit yāall with some fern facts: ferns are one of the oldest plant species on earth, existing even before the dinosaurs. There are over 10,000 species of fern-like plants. Ferns do not reproduce through flowers but have spores instead. The wind helps ferns to spawn.) Okay enough about ferns! Itās not easy starting a business from almost nothing. Thankfully, Iāve had lots of help and support along the way through friends and family! Most of all I want to extend gratitude to my parents, my amazing partner Chase, Rand Gros for creating art for my business cards, and all of my clients who have chosen and trusted me to capture their memories! I hope to continue growing this small business with inclusivity, compassion, equality, and quality in mind at all times.
