IMPORTANT NOTICES!
As we get closer to the 2026 Northland Mardi Gras, we want to keep the public aware of some closures during Mardi Gras that is aimed to help with set up and keeping everyone safe.
Starting Monday July 13 until Monday July 20, Memorial Park is closed to the public, except during the event times Thursday through Sunday. This includes the beach as well. There are a lot of moving pieces and heavy machinery coming in and out of the park that safety is a top priority and this allows everyone to set up timely as well.
The boat landing is closed Wednesday July 15th at noon through Sunday July 19th. We will be putting floats in the water, running tests for the power boat racing, and hosting the power boat racing and two night parades. There will be no option for parking at the boat landing and there will be a lot of traffic from the organizers.
The street from Everett (by the bathrooms) to the corner of Park Avenue from Saturday to Sunday will be no parking. Those living on these roads will still have access to their properties. We have a large number of racers coming in that need the space to work on their boats for racing. We ask that people do not attempt to park down these roads as there will be an increase in foot traffic.
Racing will occur Saturday and Sunday July 18 & 19th. The waterway will be closed to boaters at this time. If boaters enter the race area the race has to IMMEDIATELY be shut down until it is cleared. Speeds may reach more than 100mph and the safety of those on the water is a priority. We want to keep everyone on the water safe and the races fun. The starting line will be at the beach and go toward the bridge.
Pets are NOT allowed at the park during Mardi Gras. This is for the safety of everyone. If you bring a pet to the park, you will be asked for the pet to leave. Service animals are welcome. If any animal is aggressive, including a service animal, you will be asked to remove the animal from the park.The same thing goes for bikes, scooters, skateboards, or rollerblades. There are too many people and we want everyone to be safe. We encourage you to use these items at the new skate park and wear a helmet!
We appreciate the public’s support in this and helping get the word out. A friendly reminder, is that our organization is a volunteer group that puts in a lot of hours to make sure that we as a community and our visitors can enjoy a great weekend together. Please be kind and let’s all do our part to keep everyone safe during the festival.
