Pelicans and Eagles made our Monday boat ride a little sweeter.
We have just one more boat ride before we pull the boat out for the season. It’s always hard to say goodbye to our river days, so we will be soaking up every minute.

Thursday visitors! PELICANS! Always a treat to see these big white birds on our stretch of the Illinois River.
When they fly close enough, you can hear the whoosh of their wings.
All our activities stop as we stand on the deck and watch .
With wingspans reaching 9 feet, they are quite a sight.
Fall migration on the river.

The captain and I spent Friday afternoon cruising the river, and it looked and felt like fall. The trees are starting to turn and the eagles colors just popped!

We also spotted pelicans along the river from south of the Lacon bridge to the Henry bridge. It was a great afternoon.
Time spent with my favorite captain doing what we enjoy is a win. Hopefully, the river has another ride in store for us before we pull the boat out for the season. …if so…..see ya on the river!
