That’s a wrap……

We had so much fun meeting everyone on Saturday at the vendor event during Lacon’s old settlers. We especially enjoy connecting with people who love nature and the river as much as we do.

Thank you to all our followers and friends who stopped by our booth to say hello and support us. We truly appreciate each and every one of you.

The captain and I took a boat ride after he finished work on Monday. It was so peaceful and quiet on the river as we traveled to chilli and Henry.

We saw only a handful of eagles, which is rare for us. We are so spoiled that seeing only a few is almost disappointing! The river was still up so that could be why the eagles were missing.

The biggest surprise was a seaplane. It flew right over us , landed on the river, and then took off again…..a first for us.

We also spotted an Osprey hanging out at the Henry Marina, another first. On our way home, the captain saw the Lacon Osprey dive into the river and catch a fish. I missed the dive , but I did catch him carrying his catch under the bridge.

It was a good way to spend a Monday afternoon.

Do you need plans for Saturday?

Old settlers is happening in Lacon with maker market on Saturday. We will be set up selling our photos. We have our photos not only framed but on a little bit of everything. There will be lots of great vendors plus a carnival and a parade!
If you are local stop by and say hello. We love to meet our followers. It runs from 10 am to 4 pm.

If you arrive before 10 am you can even participate in the breakfast fundraiser. It runs frpm 7 am to 10am at the marina

Also while in town check out fifth street revival they are having sidewalk sales!
It’s a busy weekend in Lacon.

The last two trips on the river , we have headed south toward Chillicothe….and the river hasn’t disappointed.
We have seen plenty of eagles along the way , along with a busy working river. Barges , tow boats, wildlife and some pretty river views….there’s always something to see. Time spent on the river with family , friends and nature is time well spent. A friend said after a boat ride that felt like a vacation!

It was a nice ride from Lacon to Chillicothe and then to Henry on Saturday. The river was a little more crowded than the captain and I are used to, but we still managed to spot a few eagles and of course the Osprey.

Family, wildlife and a day on the Illinois River……doesn’t get much better than that.

Time spent on the river is time well spent.

Another great Tuesday on the Illinois River from LACON to HENRY! Plenty of bald eagles to photograph . I almost ran out of film. lol.
I even got a nice photo of the Lacon Osprey in the nest from our boat.
