I’ve been thinking a lot about my work lately. What I love about it, what I want more of, and what I want to push myself to explore.

So I went to the beach with zero expectations and gave myself permission to play. I shot the entire session just on my 35mm to push myself to move around and find new perspectives.

I played with movement and slower shutter speeds. I composed a little differently. I tried a different approach to color and editing. I let some things be soft and imperfect instead of immediately deciding they were “wrong.”

And through all of that, I realized I don’t actually want to change the heart of how I photograph people.

I still want connection. I still want movement and laughter and affection. I still want photographs that feel like the people in them.

I just want to get a little more curious about how I photograph it.

Anyway. Here’s what happens when I go to the beach to f**k around with my camera for a night. 🤍

The best day for the best couple. 🥹

There are some weddings that stay with you forever, and this will always be one of them.

Bethany and Trey got married in the sweetest little chapel in Rolling Prairie before celebrating the night away at Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo. From happy tears and heartfelt vows to casino portraits and one heck of a party, it was a day I’ll never forget.

I laughed, I cried, I ugly cried behind my camera, and I’d do it all over again.

Photographing your best friend’s wedding is one of the greatest honors. Thank you both for trusting me with such an incredible day. I love you guys so much, and I can’t wait to watch this next chapter unfold. 🤍

Yes, back to school ads are everywhere, but the sun is still blasting and the beach is where we belong. I still have a handful of August dates open for beach chaos, sunset runs, and catching your kids actually having fun. Let’s goooooo!

Had the best time with Tess and Jimmy at their engagement session in Long Beach, Indiana. We had a stunning sunset and so much fun together. I can’t wait for their wedding in September!!

Golden hour with the beautiful Berge family. ✨

Getting the whole extended crew together is no easy feat, but it is always so worth it. We spent a gorgeous evening exploring Beachwalk and catching the sunset along the shores of Lake Michigan.

This crew was an absolute blast to work with from the sweetest grandparents to the littlest ones running in the sand. There is nothing quite like capturing these legacy memories during a beach family photo session.

The sweetest elopement at Saint Mary's College in South Bend, Indiana. I loved getting to know Erin and Ted at their engagement session and I just knew this day was going to be special. They had a very intimate and unique ceremony in the chapel with their closest friends and family. It was really wonderful and I’m so happy I was there to document it.
