At the end of October every year is Nebraska Miss Amazing 's annual Amplify event, and I always have the honor of being one of the photographers! It's something I got involved with four years ago and have been involved with ever since. Through each interaction throughout the weekend, you can see every participant have their confidence boosted by such a wonderful community.

I did end up taking fewer photos this year as we had a wonderful team to help out, so I did more video work this year. I can't wait to see what 2026 has in store!

It's been two months since my last Pla-Mor Ballroom appearance, so I decided that since I had the availability I would make the trip down to Lincoln for the night last night! It was a fun night seeing everyone again and even getting out and dancing a bit.

As for my retirement, it's going to be a semi-retirement where I show up when I have the bandwidth and mental energy to do so. With all the projects I have going on, it's probably going to be every couple of months when I can be down there.

Fortunately, this time you won't have to wait that long. See everyone on December 28th! I won't be there for New Years as I will be on vacation, but I will likely be back on January 18th too! After that, my schedule is iffy until March.

What I’m thankful for this Thanksgiving? You!

The holidays can be a tough time for those without a family or a community to be a part of. If you’re watching this, you are a part of my community and are never alone even during the holidays. We may not be in the same city or country, but I appreciate every single one of you in my life! 😀

So last night, after I got off of work, I was determined to go out to Boone County to get some amazing shots of the northern lights away from all the city lights. Fortunately, the clouds around Columbus and Humphrey kept away from the horizon for the most part so I didn't have to go as far. That meant I got home around 11pm instead of 1am. 😂

The more candy-looking photos are from my Canon 6D Mk II and the more saturated ones are from my Sony a7 IV.

So after last night's dance rehearsal for Dancing Within The Star City this weekend, I figured I would go up by Wahoo and get some shots of the Aurora Borealis. Turns out I only needed to go a few miles north to Raymond Road for these.

It was intense enough I could easily see it with my eyes while I was going north on Highway 77! 😁

So back in September, I had the privilege of being the photographer for Nora's senior photos. Nora wanted to have the Old Market be the setting for her senior photos, and I thought it was a pretty solid choice.

I loved how the Old Market had a lot of different settings and a lot of brick that works so well. We even managed to save enough time to get down to the Gene Leahy Mall for some senior photos there too. It was so much fun getting to work with Nora and her mom and I'm glad you loved all the photos!

Good afternoon everyone! So for those who don't already know, I'm the Director of Creative Media for Nebraska Miss Amazing. We help girls and women with disabilities become advocates for themselves by building up their confidence and self-esteem. Our annual Amplify event is October 25th and 26th and we're looking for volunteers to help us out! We have several volunteer opportunities for everyone:

Be a Buddy: Are you an attentive and supportive friend? Then you would make a perfect Miss Amazing Buddy! As a Buddy, you’ll guide a participant in Miss Amazing’s AMPLIFY program, serving as her friend and ally throughout the event. Buddies must be at least 13 years old and available for the entirety of the event.

Lend a Helping Hand: Miss Amazing events are brought to life by talented volunteers that help out behind-the- scenes. Tell us about your interests and strengths in the application, and we’ll find the perfect spot for you on our team.

Be a Right-Hand Man: Calling all helpful and supportive gentlemen! Right-hand Men are responsible for es**rting participants in the AMPLIFY program onstage to receive their awards during the final show. This position is a perfect fit for boys and men with and without disabilities.

You don't have to commit to both days, but we will love it if you can!

So at the end of May, I had the honor of being the photographer for the wedding of two of my good friends Joe and Lauren at St. Patrick's in Council Bluffs. I originally met Joe and Lauren at the monthly get-together of the Archdiocese of Omaha Young Adults where I would, to no one's surprise, be taking photos. Cue a few years later, and Joe and Lauren asked me to be the photographer for their wedding and I was more than happy to be the photographer!

It ended up being a beautiful day for a wedding and the OPPD Arboretum was fantastic for some pre-reception photos of the wedding party! 😀 Weirdly enough, it was also my first time on a party bus so that was interesting for sure. 😂

I was really happy that all the wedding photos did turn out to really capture the love that Joe and Lauren have for each other. Thank you again for the honor of being your wedding photographer! 😀

P.S. I had meant to post about your wedding for a while, but the year got away from me around mid-July. 😅

Well, I managed to get caught up on a lot of stuff so I decided to make an appearance at the Pla-Mor Ballroom this past Sunday! I even managed to bring out my higher-end lights as I had them on me from the weekend.

For those who don't already know, I do a lot of work for Nebraska Miss Amazing, and we're looking for volunteers for our upcoming AMPLIFY event on October 25th and 26th. Since I'm behind the camera, it's hard for me to help out with much else. We really need Buddies on Sunday the 26th for our participants, but we also could use more Right Hand Men and Helping Hands throughout the weekend.

As for Pla-Mor appearances, I have a pretty busy rest of the year along with winter setting in. Stay tuned to my Facebook and Instagram story to know when I'll be at Pla-Mor next!

So each year in July, I venture out to Chicago as one of the photographers for the Miss Amazing Inc. National Summit. It's always a wonderful time getting to see all the fun the participants have there and making sure they have photos of all the memories of a fun weekend!

That being said, as the photographer for Nebraska Miss Amazing too, I can tell you we're looking for volunteers for our AMPLIFY event! It is on October 25th and 26th at Westside Middle School in Omaha, and we have volunteers for everybody. You can be a Buddy where you get to spend a day with one of our participants to a Helping Hand that helps us run the event. We even need Right Hand Men to es**rt our participants out on stage during our Final Show.

So this past Sunday I was the photographer at the St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church 's Fall Festival, which also happens to be the church I go to in Omaha. We had a lot of fun right up until the unpredictable summer rains called it a day. 😅
