Lightning photos from last night's storm. Dang auto focus override from manual focus softened my favorite strike but I'm still pretty happy. This is the first time I've ever photographed lightning in California. Reminded me of when I used to live in Alabama.

It feels like the world's going in circles
I suppose though, it'll come around
So I recall that all life has a purpose
And lose compulsion to wear a frown
It's not that I don't see the bad
Naive to blissful ignorance
It's just that I do see the good
And wish to be more where I should
So I'll acknowledge what I must
And try to fix that which I can
But refuse to sit collecting dust
When I can instead make a stand
To place attention greater where
It's deserved than where it's not
For too many seem to tarry there
And their good intentions spoil to rot
I choose to change life from within
For that's all we can really do
In any given situation
How we respond we alone choose
I cannot fix everything
But I know deep in my heart
That if I just begin with me
Then at least I'll be doing my part.

I don't care how many pretty sunsets I've seen before, it doesn't diminish my joy at seeing another. Besides, each one's unique. The clouds never form exactly the same on any two days. Sure there's patterns but cloud formations are like snowflakes. It's never exactly the same. Here's to another banger. Thank you sky!
