Probably the nicest parking structure in downtown haha, I wonder what the fee is to park there ? And do they greet you with a beverage upon arrival? It was really awesome shooting downtown with my buddy and awesome photographer Kyle Moreno. It's been awhile since I've shot down town, and sometimes I forget how beautiful it can be at night !

"Blankets of Night"

While driving back and forth through Zion I kept going past this area and really wanted to shoot it but I just couldn't figure if I wanted to do it at sunrise or sunset, well each day the sky became more and more clear so shooting a sunrise or sunset didn't really look like it was going to work out because I really wanted some clouds for this spot. So on our way out of the park around 4am I looked up and faintly saw the galactic center and knew what I needed to do. We hurried to the spot and I quickly unloaded my gear and composed my shot. It was like mid 30s out and I could almost see my breath in the darkness, it was really something to be out in the dark in a beautiful, quiet place with a perfect window to the stars. I love shooting the stars because it really opens up your imagination and makes you think just how much we don't know, and how much there is to discover.

"For Lex"

I had to take advantage of the last bit of clouds we are going to have for the next couple days so I decided to head down to hospitals to check the sunset, upon arrival I guess many other people had the same idea haha so I had to do a little searching to get away from the crowds and get a shot with no one in frame. By the end of the sunset I turned around and at least 5 other photographers were behind me snapping shots lol it was definitely the spot to be yesterday, but the sunset was beautiful and I just love how these little pools light up with color !

"Adventure Time"

It's a cold and wet Sunday and instead of staying indoors we decided to go to on a little adventure and to a place that loves the rain ! Cedar Creek Falls, and after having to cross three heavy flowing, cold as ice streams we made it to the falls, and it did not disappoint. The flow was epic and the mist from the falls was insane. To the point it felt as if it was straight raining right in front of it. So I decided I had to go for a different perspective. So with a little searching I found myself at this spot, a small patch of dirt slowly giving away into the water, so I hurried and busted my gear out and snapped a couple shots ! Hope everyone is safe out there with the rain and that everyone has a wonderful work week !!!

Its funny how the weather can change so drastically. I shot this image yesterday at sunset, and I was calling this storms bluff haha, but I was stoked to get out of bed this morning and see that the rain had showed up. Have a wonderful weekend everyone ! And be safe out there, The streets are flooded !

I'm super stoked on the weather ! We need all the rain we can get ! And I just love it when it rains, I guess growing up in SD has me weather deprived haha, now I gotta go find some snow !

"Awake"

Couldn't sleep in this Saturday so Kyle and I decided to take a hike up to broken hill and watch the sunrise. The recent rains made for slippery closed trails and very unstable cliff sides so either we had to risk trespassing and getting slapped with a fine or finding another way to the top, and trying to navigate this in the dark was extra fun with the added danger. Once we got to the top and the sun started to peek off the horizon the temperature had to have dropped because it was freezing ! But that could have also been because we were covered in sweat and mud, but we didn't care ! the sun started to shine beautifully on the hills and we knew right then and there this was the spot to be ! It's hard to wake up early on your day off, but when you do you remember that it's truly an amazing thing to watch the sunrise. We jumped and laughed on how stoked we were to be here watching this gorgeous and epic moment unfold.

If you can, wake up on your day off, get a friend to join, and go greet the sun from one of your favorite spots. You won't regret it.

We didn't, even if we almost got hit with a 300 dollar fine ! 😝
