Lucas is someone I’ve had the privilege of getting to know over the past few months, both personally and as his in-home caregiver. He suffered a diving accident that left him paralyzed, but his story is so much more than the accident that changed his life.
Lucas is one of the most humble, kind, and genuinely positive people I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know. His optimism and outlook on life are truly a breath of fresh air. The way he continues to find positivity and purpose in life is something I really admire.
Today, Lucas spoke to the students at Holmen High School, sharing his story and his experiences with them. I had the pleasure of being there to capture some images from his speech, and it was incredible to watch him connect with and inspire the students.
I’m grateful to know Lucas and to have the opportunity to be a small part of his journey. Today was a great reminder that sometimes the people who have been through the most can have the most perspective to share.
