I’ve had the honor of photographing SO many beautiful senior girls this year, but I’ve also had some pretty amazing senior guys in front of my camera too. 🤍

And this one was extra special.

This handsome senior is the son of one of my husband’s college roommates, and his family made the two-hour drive from Minneapolis to have me take his senior photos. The fact that they chose to make the trip and trusted me to capture this season means more than they probably know.

There’s just something really special about getting to photograph the kids of people who have been part of our lives for so many years. Somehow we went from the college days to having kids old enough for SENIOR PHOTOS. How does that even happen?! 🥹

I’m so grateful for every family who chooses me, whether they live right down the road or drive a couple hours to get here. That trust is something I’ll never take for granted.

And after a year filled with lots of gorgeous senior girls, I have to say… I really love getting the senior boys in front of my camera too.

There’s something about keeping their sessions relaxed, simple, and true to who they are in this season that I really love. 🤍

I know I say it often but there’s something extra special about getting to photograph the kids of people who have meant so much to my own. 🤍

Addie’s mom, Laura, was the 1st and 2nd grade teacher for two of my three boys and to this day, she is still one of their absolute favorites. So getting the opportunity to photograph her beautiful girl for her senior year felt like such a full-circle moment.

And Addie made my job pretty easy. 🤍 She is beautiful, sweet, and completely herself. I loved getting to spend the evening creating with her and capturing this season of who she is right now.

It’s never lost on me what an honor it is to be trusted with someone’s senior photos. These years go so quickly, and getting to preserve a little piece of this chapter for families, especially ones who have been a special part of our own story, means more than I can say.

Addie, you are going to do amazing things. 🤍

🌸Sweet Shelby Class of 2027🌸

There’s something extra special about getting to photograph the kids of the people I love. 🤍

Over the years, I’ve had friends basically hand their kiddos over to me and say, “Go do your thing.” And honestly, that kind of trust in me and my vision means more than they probably know.
I’ll pick them up, we’ll head out with a loose plan, and we make an evening out of creating together. We wander, talk, laugh, stop when something catches my eye, and just see where the evening takes us.

And this time, I got to do that with Shelby. 🤍

Her mama is one of my besties, so getting to photograph this season of Shelby’s life feels especially sweet. She truly has a heart of gold and is just one of those genuinely GOOD humans.

And there’s another really special piece of Shelby’s story....she’s an author! She has already published her first children’s book, inspired by her very own tractor. 🚜📖

Which is why this is only Part 1 of her senior photos.
Part 2 is coming once that tractor is fully restored. And when it is, we’ll be bringing the tractor AND her book into her photos telling the whole story of something she loves, something she created, and a pretty amazing accomplishment at such a young age.

Those are the kinds of senior photos I love most. The ones that aren’t just about what you look like at this age, but about who you are, what you love, and the pieces of your story worth remembering.

There is such an honor in being trusted to photograph my friends’ kids as they grow up, to see who they’re becoming and get to create something that feels completely like them.
I’ll never take that trust lightly. 🤍

Shelby, Part 1. Part 2 is going to be pretty special. 🚜📖✨

When we traveled to Colorado as a family this summer, I had the opportunity to step into another family’s home and document motherhood in a way that felt so true to why I love what I do.

Motherhood doesn’t stop being worth documenting when they aren’t little anymore.

It’s just different.

For this session, I asked mom to write a little something to each of her children. Something she wanted each of them to know and remember.

Then we went into their rooms, one at a time, and she read those words to them.

And THAT is the kind of thing I want these sessions to hold onto.

Not just what your family looked like in this season, but also what it felt like to belong to each other.

The conversations on the edge of the bed.
The inside jokes.
The wrestling and pillow fights.
The way they still lean into you.
The ordinary routines happening inside the home they’re growing up in.

We photograph the baby years so much, but these years deserve to be remembered too.

Because someday they’ll have these photographs.

And they’ll also have her words. 🤎

And getting to create something this meaningful while traveling with my own family made this one just a little extra special.

I spend so much of my life behind the camera, documenting everyone else’s stories… so being on this side of it always feels a little extra special. 🤍

A few favorites from our time in Colorado, captured so beautifully by my sweet friend and incredibly talented photographer, Emily. My heart is so full đź’›

The mountains have always been one of our favorite places to be together. There’s just something about being surrounded by all of that beauty, with Adam and our boys beside me, that makes me want to freeze time for a little while.

And that’s exactly why these mean so much.

Photos are an investment…I know that both as a photographer and as a mom. But as the years keep moving and these boys keep growing, I’m reminded over and over that photographs are one of the few things we get to keep from these seasons.

Someday, I know I’ll look back at these and remember exactly what this chapter of our family felt like. And that makes them worth every penny. 🤍

Thank you, Emily, for giving us these. Thank you so much for sharing your God given talents with my family. I’ll treasure them forever.💛

Every year around July 4th they come from New Jersey to visit family. Every year they hire me to capture their love. 💛 Every year I am beyond thankful for them and in awe of them continuing to trust me with documenting their growing littles 🥹 This is the greatest compliment to a photographer and something I will never take for granted.

Words from the very wise Randy Travis

I will never regret our road trips making memories with them and I pray these are all core memories for them too đź’›

Can we just talk about how fast this season goes? 🌸

One day they’re newborns. Then they’re toddling through the grass, laughing at nothing, completely unaware of how magical they are. And then somehow, before you even catch your breath, they’re teenagers.

Motherhood is the most beautiful, fleeting, overwhelming, incredible thing. Every single stage deserves to be remembered.

Happy almost-May, mamas. You’re doing something really special. 🤍

She will forget the sleepless nights. She will forget the hard days. But she will never forget how it felt to hold them close and neither will you. 🤍

Time moves faster than we ever expect. These moments are fleeting, and they deserve to be frozen forever.
That’s why I do what I do.

📸 Motherhood Sessions are open through May. These sessions are for every mama….the new ones, the seasoned ones, the ones in the thick of it.

Tag a mama who deserves this. And if that mama is you, slide into my DMs to book your Motherhood Session before May is gone! 🌸
