I’m looking for TWO families for something a little different.

I have been wanting to create a series of family portraits in the water at sunset, and I finally decided it’s time to make it happen.

Think bare feet, rolled-up pants, flowy dresses, kids splashing Mom and Dad, lots of laughing, snuggling, and just enjoying your family while I capture it.

Not perfectly posed.

Not everyone staring at the camera and saying cheese.

Just beautiful portraits of your family being your family.

I'll be choosing a water location based on where each family lives, so you do not need to travel across Central Texas to participate.

I'm only opening TWO spots for this project over the next couple of weeks. Once I have my two families, I'm closing it.

Kindergarten.

The year they refused to wear anything except their favorite sneakers.

The year soccer became their entire personality.

The year they suddenly didn't look quite so little anymore.

One portrait.

Not because I think parents need more pictures of their children.

We have more pictures than any generation of parents before us.

I created it because I think we need a better way to keep the ones that matter.

“We’ll print them someday.”

I used to believe that too.

In fact, it's one of the reasons I stopped building my photography business around digital files.

Families would receive beautiful photographs they genuinely loved.

They had every intention of printing them.

Maybe they'd make an album.

Maybe they'd order something for the living room.

Maybe Grandma would get one.

But then life happened.

Dinner needed to be made.

Laundry piled up.

Someone got sick.

Work got busy.

Another 3,000 pictures were taken on the phone.

And those professional portraits slowly moved farther and farther down the camera roll.

“Someday” never came.

That's why Beautifully You is different.

I don't believe my job is finished when I click the shutter.

Before your session, we talk about what you would actually love to have in your home.

Maybe it's one incredible family portrait over the couch.

Maybe it's a portrait of each child.

Maybe it's something for the hallway you walk through twenty times a day.

Then I photograph with those things in mind.

Afterward, I help you choose the images you love and decide how they'll live in your home.

This is what I mean when I say I want to photograph who your child IS.

Not just what they look like.

One is a dancer.

One is a baseball player.

Their portraits shouldn't look the same.

And neither should your child's. 🤍

When I think about an annual portrait, I'm not interested in putting every child in front of the same backdrop, asking for the same smile, and calling it finished.

I want to know what makes YOUR child them.

Maybe she's spent years in a dance studio and comes alive the second the music starts.

Maybe baseball isn't just something he plays. It's part of how everyone knows him.

Maybe your child is an artist.

A musician.

A gamer.

A bookworm.

Horse crazy.

Dinosaur obsessed.

Completely devoted to one stuffed animal.

Or maybe their defining characteristic right now isn't an activity at all.

Maybe it's that huge laugh.

The confidence they're starting to find.

Their quiet nature.

Their wild imagination.

That's what I want to preserve.

They're not too young for this. 🤍

I've talked a lot about the beginning of a new school year, but I want to make something very clear:

**The First Day Collection isn't only for school-aged children.**

If your little one is starting daycare...

Walking into preschool with a backpack that's almost as big as they are...

Moving into a new classroom...

Or simply beginning another year of becoming more and more themselves...

This is for them, too.

In fact, some of those earliest years are the ones that change the fastest.

This isn't about recreating school pictures.

It's about creating something entirely different.

When I began designing the portrait experience I'm announcing tomorrow, I knew I didn't want it to only be about the children.

Because while they're growing...

I've been quietly working on something very special.

Something for the babies starting daycare.

The little ones proudly walking into preschool.

The brand-new kindergarteners.

The elementary kids suddenly looking not-so-little anymore.

The middle schoolers finding their independence.

And the seniors experiencing their very last first day.

Because August isn't really about going back to school.

It's about realizing another year has passed.

And another chapter is beginning.

I've created something that I hope will help families turn that realization into a tradition.
