Six years. 📸✨

Yesterday officially marked six years since my first photoshoot. The day the door was pushed open.

Funny enough, that first session was a senior session. Six years later, on the exact anniversary, I found myself behind the camera photographing his younger sister for her senior photos.

I don’t think it could have been more full circle, even if we tried.

Over these six years I’ve photographed a little bit of everything. Seniors, weddings, couples, families, wildlife, fireworks, events, and now even food. I’ve learned, experimented, changed, screwed things up, figured things out, and somehow kept finding new things I wanted to photograph. Somehow even winding up as an International Photography Awards Honorable Mention.

Most importantly, I never stopped picking up the camera.

Six years later, I’m still learning. Still creating. Still chasing the next shot. Still focusing on the dream. 🌌

A little something different in front of my camera lately 📸🍽️

I had the chance to photograph one of the dishes for the launch of a new catering company, and getting to bring the food to life through my photography was such a fun change of pace. Aaron handled the prep, cooking, and plating, while I got to step in behind the camera and capture all the details.

I’m pretty proud of what we created together, both on the plate and in these photos.

And for my wedding couples, this also means I officially have a caterer I can confidently recommend when you’re planning your day. 😉 Whether you need someone behind the camera or someone making sure your guests are VERY well fed, we have your experience covered.

The Perfect Trio. 🐴🌊

Finally, I had the chance and privilege to photograph some beautiful wild horses at Assateague Island National Seashore. From the sprawling wetlands and wild horses grazing in the marsh to the beautiful storm band rolling across the sky, this one easily takes the cake as my favorite photograph from the trip.

The best thing was taking it all in. Knowing they’re wild, free, and thriving makes this experience that much more perfect. ✨

A quiet moment along the shoreline at Presque Isle. 📸

One of my favorite things about wildlife photography is never really knowing what I’m going to find. I can head out looking for one thing or nothing at all and end up stopping for something completely different.

This little shorebird happened to be one of those moments. Nothing dramatic, just a beautiful bird perched along the water and a few seconds to get low enough to capture it from its world.

Sometimes those simple encounters end up being some of my favorite photographs from the day.

Big Boy in Ellwood City!🚂

Some moments are worth waiting for.

Watching Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014 roll through Ellwood City, Pennsylvania was one of those moments. Hearing the whistle echo through the trees before seeing the locomotive emerge around the bend is something photos can only hint at.

Standing there as one of the largest operating steam locomotives in the world passed by was an experience I’ll remember for a long time. It’s a reminder that history isn’t confined to museums. Sometimes it comes alive and rolls right through your hometown.

A Quiet Encounter. 🤫✨

There are times in wildlife photography where the distance between you and the subject seems to disappear. For a few minutes, curiosity replaced caution, and we simply watched each other.

Every encounter leaves me with a deeper appreciation for the wild places that still exist and the animals that call them home. Being trusted with even a few minutes like this is something I’ll never take for granted. Especially with an animal as finicky as these guys.

Every Fourth of July Has a Story. 🫶🏼🤘🏼

For me, this holiday has become about more than fireworks. It’s about the memories behind them, the people I’ve met, the places they’ve taken me, and the journey they’ve inspired.

Looking back through these photos reminds me that it all started with a camera, a tripod, and a desire to create something beautiful. Year after year, each show taught me something new and each season pushed me to grow as both a photographer and a person.

Today, I’m incredibly thankful for the opportunities this journey has brought into my life and for everyone who has supported me along the way.

As we celebrate Independence Day, I wanted to share a few of my favorite fireworks photographs from over the years. From my very first time photographing them to my most recent. They represent not just moments in the sky, but chapters of a journey I’m grateful to still be on.
