One Night Above Pittsburgh 🌃

Last night was one of those nights where you just keep looking up.

From the Pirates P hanging above the skyline to the American flag, the Statue of Liberty, and an eagle stretching across downtown, every formation seemed to take on a life of its own against the city lights.

Standing there with my camera, it was hard not to appreciate how much planning, technology, and creativity goes into a show like this. Pittsburgh gave us the skyline. Zambelli gave us the sky.

Hidden in Plain Sight 🫣

Funny how the woods can make you slow down without even realizing it. Moving around like I was on a mission, I was quickly brought to a halt.

I walked right past this tree and almost missed him completely. One small movement against the bark and suddenly everything changed. Moments like this are why I’ll always love wildlife photography. No setup. No control. Just patience, timing, and being present enough to notice what most people would never see.

Nature doesn’t always demand attention. Sometimes it whispers. 🐍🌿

The Quiet Between Moments 💙🩶🩵

Wildlife photography has taught me that some of the most powerful moments happen in complete silence.

No movement. No sound. We’re just there together and locked in. 🔒

This great blue heron stood perfectly still surrounded by the soft greens of spring, almost blending into the calm around it. Remember the photo of the heron in flight from the other day? This is the same heron.

Two completely different moments.
One full of motion.
One full of stillness.

That’s what I love most about wildlife photography. You never really know what side of nature you’re about to witness until it happens. ✨🌌

Between the Ripples. 🌉

Back by the river again. 🤙🏼

Same place I photographed “Beaver County Boom,” but tonight couldn’t have felt more different. No fireworks reflecting off the water. No crowds. No noise. Just the current moving past the rocks and the last bit of light hanging onto the sky. 🌅

I think that’s what pulled me into this scene. Not the bridge in the background, but everything happening in front of it. The small details. The movement in the water. The feeling of slowing down for a minute and just existing in the moment.

Sometimes the quiet photos end up being the ones that stay with me the longest. ✨

Gliding Through Silence 🪽🤫

Wildlife photography humbles you fast.

You can spend hours out there with nothing to show for it, then out of nowhere a moment like this happens for half a second. The way this great blue heron skimmed across the water so low and smooth almost didn’t look real in person.

No noise. No panic. Just complete control.

I think that’s what I love most about wildlife photography. You don’t create the moment, you just have to be ready when nature gives it to you. This one felt special the second I saw it through the viewfinder. I knew it was only a matter of time before he took off.

Happy Monday, everyone! 🤙🏻

What a beautiful day yesterday was. I hope you enjoyed it and made the most of it.

Yesterday was a day of reminiscing for me. Going back to the exact spot where the door opened almost a year ago. Different look. Different vibe. But the chills remained the same, and the flashbacks over the last year began immediately.

It’s honestly crazy to think about how much can change and how life can shift in just a year. In such an amazing, unexplainable, unimaginable way.

The Beaver County Boom 2025 photo spot. I haven’t been there since taking that photo last year. Such a special and surreal moment that I didn’t know I needed.

Beaver County, you looked STUNNING last night.

Even though, This photo was captured when the pick was in for the 2nd round. It was the Philadelphia Eagles and Eli Stowers.

The whole weekend was one of those moments where the city felt locked in. Lights on, windows glowing, fans screaming and every screen pulling your attention to one place.

Pittsburgh doesn’t just show up. It builds a moment. 🌃
