When you have a college senior and masters grad it is best to combine the shoot 😉 This mom is a rock star and made it happen by calling me months ago to coordinate the best time for everyone.
Congratulations Ashley Kate. I can’t believe it has been 4 years since your last senior photos.

Grad season is here and it is so busy I cannot even make time to post!
Blair is adorable! She was so much fun and is from Knoxville so her mom got to join us too! There were not too many lines yet because this was a couple of weeks ago ☺️🧡 I loved getting to work with you all. Congratulations!!

Later Gram today. Last weekend sweet friends in Nashville gave Anne Lauren a baby shower. It was so sweet and these girls loved on her and gave us the sweetest things. It was such a picture of community and Gods love for us all!!

One minute you’re driving them to practice and helping with homework…
and the next you’re realizing this is the last year of so many things.

Senior photos tend to get pushed down the list—
until suddenly the calendar is full and the season feels rushed.

What I’ve learned after photographing so many seniors (and living it as a mom too)…
is that this season deserves to be slowed down and done well.

Not just for beautiful photos—
but to really see them, celebrate them, and remember who they are right now.

If you have a junior, it’s not too early to start thinking about it.
And if you want her to feel confident, connected, and part of something special going into senior year…

Happy birthday to the girl who made me a mama 30 years ago today. 💛
And now she gets to become a mama herself this June!

We are so grateful the Lord gave us our joyful ray of sunshine all those years ago, and we can’t wait to welcome the new little blessing she and Tyler will soon bring into the world.
So much joy ahead! 👶🏼💗💙

Riley:

To me beauty is fragile. Everyone wants to be beautiful, but there is no measurement to beauty. I think when people are internally confident it shines externally. It does not matter what a person looks like, but what matters is their character. Someone lighting up a room is beautiful. Making someone smile is beautiful. Beauty can be seen visually on a person, but more importantly in their acts and how they treat the people around them.

Why is beauty so difficult in this day and age especially w social media?
In this day and age we are constantly looking at other people. Wether we realize it or not we mentally analyze others and put ourselves beside them. It is much easier to compare ourselves to people when there are so many people to look at. Social media makes this 10x more accessible, so it is important to remember that they can be beautiful and you can be beautiful even though you look very different.

Growing up I was friends with a lot of people in the grade above me. This lead me to look up to them because they were cool and older. But it kind of got out of control. As much as I wanted to be like them I also wanted to look like them. I have grown in knowledge and know that that is not possible but I’ve also grown to like myself for the way I appear.

Beauty is often decided by social media or the people around you.
Instead- God tells us that he decides what is beautiful, not us. 1 Peter 3:3-4 says “Don’t let your beauty consist of outward things like elaborate hairstyles and wearing gold jewelry or fine clothes, but rather what is inside the heart”. What we look like or wear is not important. The expensive brands and fancy makeup mean nothing to God. Instead the Lord looks at our internal beauty and treasures it so much more!
We can say, “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:14. We can praise God for making us in his image, fearfully and wonderfully. Remember the Lord has made everyone and everything exactly to his perfect plan! We are his beautiful handiwork! And even more importantly, our hearts are the most beautiful to God!
