We have been gearing up for not 7, not 8, but ELEVEN days away from home starting Wednesday doing the most fun things together as a family. I will be doing some light work while we are away, but mostly making the sweetest memories with my favorite people on this planet.

While this couple may live in Knoxville, all of their guests were from Louisiana. Hearing them ooh and aah at this view helped me remember that we really do live in one of the most beautiful parts of this country.

I remember having this same reaction when we visited the Redwoods and the Portland coast and the cliffs in Maine. The snowtop mountains in Colorado. The sunset over the ocean over the Gulf.

Sometimes it’s nice to be reminded that we too live in a place that invokes that same reaction!

I first photographed Cari & Eric as an engaged couple. Then, their wedding day, maternity photos, newborn sessions, and now, sweet Macy’s first birthday! Watching families grow through the years is one of the greatest gifts of this job.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This was their first session at The White Room, and the clean, light-filled space was the perfect backdrop for celebrating Macy turning one. And can we talk about that cake smash?! It was Macy’s first taste of real sugar, and she wasted absolutely no time digging in.

My favorite part was when big brother Harrison jumped in to help finish off the cake. These two are the sweetest duo, and I loved documenting this milestone for the Pelehach family.

Getting to photograph a family’s milestones over the years is the biggest compliment I could get.

I photographed this couple’s engagement photos and wedding. Then, a few years ago, I photographed Cooper’s newborn photos, and now, I had the honor of meeting her baby brother, Micah. Watching Cooper step into her big sister role was so much fun. She was proud, loving, and completely smitten with him.

From the Tennessee bear passed down through the family to the football rattle we also used in Cooper’s newborn session, this nursery was filled with details that made Micah’s first photos even more special.

I’m so grateful the Davidsons invited me back to document another chapter of their story. What a privilege it has been to watch this family grow.

80 days until this couple is getting married at the beautiful Marblegate Farm

I have not done one of these in so long so it’s time! I feel like both mine and the bride’s expression in this shot is a perfect summary of how life has felt lately. Amazing and crazy and SO MUCH FUN but also so chaotic and also the most fun 🤣
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In the month of May, I had 8 big, full size weddings and 1 sweet vow renewal. 10 portrait sessions. 7 inquiry calls. 3 Preview Parties. My camera snapped about 60,000 pictures in that month. AND I had to have my computer totally wiped to fix a HUGE issue that was going on with it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I have to shoutout to my team (who you can meet in a highlight in my profile) because they worked their BUTTS off to make May happen. And because of them, I also got to go to my kids’ awards day, weekly gymnastics, field days, class parties, weekly sports conditioning, took the kids to see a movie they’ve been dying to see, celebrated my husband’s birthday, celebrated my mom for Mother’s Day, had evenings on the lake, and ate dinner together around the table most week nights.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This year is looking a little different in June because I have ZERO weddings. And, you guys, I haven’t had this happen in literally a decade. I can’t explain it, but I will say I’m grateful for it. The Lord knew I needed a month to recover. The Lord knew I needed a month to make the most fun memories with my family. The Lord knew my team needed a rest month. And while there are piles and piles of editing to be done and portraits still happening and packages to be mailed and admin work out the w***o and preview parties galore, we are knocking things off the list faster than we are adding to it this month, and that feels SO stinking good.

The Lord went before me like He always does and made a way amongst the chaos, and I’m feeling extra grateful for it this month.

Rainy skies, a stunning Tennessee sunset, a dance floor packed with Louisiana guests, and one very adorable pup named Beignet (aka Benny).

This wedding had all the ingredients for an unforgettable day. From getting ready in the on-site cabins to sunset portraits overlooking the hills of East Tennessee, every part of their celebration was perfect. And when the dance floor opened? This Louisiana crew showed everyone how it’s done.

These sunset portraits, Benny’s trip down the aisle, and three straight hours of dancing made this a wedding I’ll be thinking about for a long time.

The overcast skies gave us the freedom to use so many different corners of The Press Room, and the stunning bow on the cake table was the perfect finishing touch to an already gorgeous day.
