Happy graduation day to my honorary niece! I had the privilege of capturing her prom photos a couple of weeks ago and today she walks across the stage to start the next chapter in her life. I can’t wait to see what is in store for her bright future! 🎓✨

Being a concert photographer, I could write a whole book about my experiences! It’s wild, from dealing with harsh red lights that mess up amazing shots, to people offering ‘exposure’ instead of paying for my time and experience. And the classic, ‘Are you dating someone in the band?’ because apparently, as a woman, I couldn’t possibly be hired by the band unless I was in a relationship with one of them.

Then there are venue staff who don’t get AA passes and try to kick you out for doing your job. Or when photographers use cell phones in the pit because they aren’t equipped for super low-light sets. It’s also frustrating when fans film the entire show and don’t just enjoy the moment, or when artists don’t interact with the crowd—your fans pay so much to be there, at least acknowledge them!

And don’t even get me started on reposts without credit. If you pay for my work, that’s one thing, but don’t repost it and make money off it without even consulting me. Also, photographers who don’t follow the ‘first 3 no flash’ rule—that rule often exists for your own safety and the bands!
