Long post, but hopefully it's a good read✨️

It has been a very challenging year so far. It seems like I've had setback after setback. The start of the year was slower, I was ill, and we had snow storms, which made it a rough start. I ended up going back to my 9-5 part-time, which is fine because I love my Dollywood family 🦋💖📸

We got into a car accident, and things have just been super stressful. There's a lot of personal things I've been dealing with as well. Quick shout out to all the small business owners that run their business and deal with day-to-day life! This s**t is hard Lol.

All that together plus running my own business has been a bit overwhelming this year. It's even been difficult for me to post on social media regularly because there's just so much going on.

But there have been good things too! I've photographed a few events, a wedding, done some markets, portraits, and have done quite a few real easte photography jobs. I'm also working on getting a business strategy certificate. So it's definitely not all bad 💖

All this got me thinking of what kind of photography I want to start focusing on. I feel I want to start moving more towards specializing in event photography and real estate photography. I've really come to enjoy doing real estate photography. And event photography just really gets my creativity flowing. If you're in need of an event photographer or know someone who is hmu!!

Now, does this mean I won't be doing portraits? Absolutely not, you can still come to me for your portrait needs! I'm just trying to nail down what I want the majority of my business to focus on. You'll definitely see me posting about Fall minis and Christmas minis! A lot of people have also asked about weddings. I'm more than happy to discuss your needs for a wedding, but I am focusing on smaller weddings and elopements 😊
You'll still see me at markets from time-to-time to!

I want to make sure my clients, my job, AND my family are getting the best version of me. Thank you to all my clients and supporters! Please continue to support my little business in any way you can. You all keep me going strong 💪

A few weeks ago, Alex messaged me and said her dog Navi was not doing well and she wanted some pictures together. I have never done a session like this before, so it was an honor to be asked. I could tell from our session that Alex cares deeply about her animals.

Having a senior dog of my own, I know there are lots of emotions when your fur baby is not doing well.

We had planned for something a little different, but the weather was atrocious, and the power went out close to the end of our session lol. But we still got through it just fine and
I'm so glad I got to capture these special photos for Alex ❤️🐕

It didn't really hit me until this last market that my post cards go to different states. Like they're post cards, so duh, right? When people were buying them, they were telling me they're sending them to grandparents, siblings, or friends out of state. I thought , "Oh wow, my art might be hanging on someone's refrigerator in like Arizona." Like I just imagine the joy when someone gets a neat post card from a loved one. Idk it just feels so wholesome and cute 🥺

Thank you to everyone who has gotten these so far. I wasn't really sure how they would do, but people have been pretty interested in them 💖
