Hello! My name is Ben, and I’m the lead photographer at Scruffy Weddings.
I’ve been capturing weddings since 2021, from backyard wedding celebrations to extravagant six-figure events!
Outside of photography, I’m a father, musician, veteran, and crossfitter.
I’m passionate about photography because it’s how we preserve our best memories in time. I truly believe it’s a powerful profession because the photos I take grace walls, family photo books, and even funerals. Photos can invoke so much joy and that’s what brings the craft meaning to me.
Even though asking 2 grown adults to “kiss” can be super awkward for a 6’3” heavily tattooed army veteran as myself, the “serious face kissy poses” are my favrite part of portrait sessions.
And yes, tattoos hurt.

I had a great time with Erica and Ariann at their Gatlinburg Elopement! Tommy Orange did a great job officiating on a rock next to some tourists and we had a good ol’ time!

It’s definitely one of my favorite spots in town for engagement shoots. There are so many fun spots for couples to run around and be free or hide and be kissy kissy without embarrassment 😆

Aurin’s black dress was a hit! I love Aurin and Ryan because they are unapologetically themselves.
They had traditions through out the day, but honestly they just did what they wanted to do and I LOVE THAT! I’m gonna miss these two love birds 😞.
