Up until then, the day can feel like a beautiful whirlwind of timelines, details, and anticipation. But when you’re standing there with one of the most important people in your life helping you button the back, fluff the train, or simply hold your hand for a second—it all becomes real.

One thing couples don’t realize until after booking their venue? The prettiest spaces aren’t always the most functional for a wedding day 🤍 (luckily this is not the case at Maple Grove Estate 🫶🏻)

When venue touring, try looking beyond just the ceremony view and ask yourself these things:

— Is there natural light in the getting ready spaces?
Your morning photos will happen there for hours, and bright, clean spaces make such a difference in how your gallery feels.

— What’s the rain backup plan?
Not just if there is one… but is it somewhere you’d actually be excited to get married in if weather changes last minute?

— Are there multiple photo locations on-site?
A venue with variety gives your gallery depth without needing to travel all over on the wedding day timeline.

— Think about guest experience + flow.
How far are guests walking? Is cocktail hour convenient? Does the timeline naturally flow from one space to the next without feeling chaotic?

— Sunset direction matters more than you think.
Golden hour portraits can completely transform your gallery, so it’s worth asking where the sun sets during your season.

A venue sets the tone for your entire wedding day experience — not just aesthetically, but emotionally too. The best ones feel beautiful and effortless to exist in 🥂

Hawaii is where this dream first started for me years ago. The island that taught me to slow down, chase light, and fall in love with the stunning landscapes.

So standing at Kualoa Ranch capturing Haley + Joe’s wedding day felt incredibly full circle. The same mountains that once inspired me at the very beginning were now the backdrop to one of the most meaningful celebrations I’ve had the honor of documenting.

There’s something surreal about being brought back to the place that shaped your journey — especially to tell a love story this beautiful beneath the cliffs, ocean air, and endless green of Oahu. Forever grateful this job keeps bringing me back to the places that have impacted me. 🤍
