Carolinas Tour Championship Delivers a Weekend of Strong Finishes at Carolina Trace Country Club

SANFORD, N.C. — The Carolinas Tour Championship wrapped up Sunday at Carolina Trace Country Club, where players battled through two rounds on the Creek and Lake courses in a weekend that produced several impressive performances and plenty of close finishes.

The story of the championship was told across the tour's individual flights, with winners ranging from dominant wire-to-wire performances to dramatic final-round comebacks.

Championship Flight — Jannace Holds Off Gabriel

Tom Jannace of Raleigh captured the Championship Flight with a two-round total of 147 (+3). Jannace opened with an excellent 73 and followed it with a 74 Sunday to finish two shots clear of Jason Gabriel.
Gabriel, from Claremont, posted matching 74s over the weekend's final 18 holes, finishing at 149 (+5). Jeanine Minnick claimed third at 169, while Eli Cooksey finished fourth at 170.

Senior Championship — Cillo Completes a Senior Victory

Jim Cillo of Aiken, S.C., emerged as the Senior Championship winner with a 155 (+11) total.
Cillo's 75 in the opening round gave him a strong foundation, and although he followed with an 80 on Sunday, he had enough cushion to secure the title by 15 shots over Spurling Cook, who finished at 170.

Player Flight — Palmer Takes the Title

Kenny Palmer of Monroe, N.C., claimed the Player Flight, finishing at 175 (+31).
Palmer posted an 86 Saturday and an 89 Sunday and his consistent two-round performance was enough to keep him comfortably in front and earn the flight championship.

Senior Player Flight — Temple Survives a Tight Race

The Senior Player Flight produced one of the weekend's closest battles, with Dave Temple of Southport taking the title at 162 (+18).
Temple and Tim Vannoy both opened with 82s, leaving the door open for a Sunday showdown. Temple responded with an 80 to finish at 162, while Vannoy shot 81 to finish just one stroke back at 163.
Thomas Terril and Randall Heredia shared third at 167, while Kerry Hunt finished fifth at 170.
Temple's one-shot margin made the Senior Player Flight one of the weekend's most competitive finishes.

Hogan Flight — Rivera Pulls Away on Sunday

Javier Rivera of Angier, N.C., won the Hogan Flight after making the biggest move of the weekend in the flight.
Rivera opened with a 96 but came back with an impressive 86 on Sunday, finishing at 182 (+38). That 10-shot improvement gave him a four-shot victory over Ed Lewis, who finished at 188.
Del Jackson finished third at 189, followed by Jimmy Bailey at 195.
Rivera's closing-round surge was the defining performance of the flight and allowed him to turn a six-shot deficit after the opening round into a four-shot championship victory.

Senior Hogan Flight — Blanton Leads From Start to Finish

George Blanton of Holly Springs, N.C., captured the Senior Hogan Flight with a 171 (+27) total.
Blanton opened with an 86 and followed with an 85 to finish four shots ahead of Steven Zannos, who finished at 175.
John Climenhaga and Andy Parker tied for third at 180.
Blanton's back-to-back rounds in the mid-80s gave him the consistency needed to claim the championship.

Palmer Flight — Sweeting Cruises to Victory

Daren Sweeting of Matthews, N.C., was the clear winner in the Palmer Flight, finishing at 177 (+33).
Sweeting opened with an 89 and followed with an 88, giving him a 14-shot cushion over Junior Cotto, who finished at 191.
Jonathan Torres placed third at 198, with Brandon Blevins fourth at 200.
Sweeting's balanced performance over both rounds allowed him to build a commanding lead and leave little doubt about the outcome.

Senior Palmer Flight — Conner Claims a Four-Shot

Roger Conner of Inman, S.C., took the Senior Palmer Flight championship with a 172 (+28) total.
Conner opened with an 88 before producing one of the flight's strongest closing rounds, an 84 on Sunday, to finish four shots ahead of David Burrell at 178.
Tom McLaughlin finished third at 184, followed by Prakash Pattisapu at 186.
Conner's four-shot margin reflected a strong final-round performance that separated him from the field.

Jones Flight — Daglaris Holds Steady

Thomas Daglaris of Jacksonville, N.C., won the Jones Flight with a 182 (+38) total.
Daglaris posted identical rounds of 91 to finish nine shots ahead of Isaac Navarro, who finished at 191.
Joselito Oliveras finished third at 201, while Charlie Hardee placed fourth at 203.
Daglaris' consistency was the story of the flight. While others struggled to maintain their opening-round form, Daglaris delivered two identical scores and comfortably secured the championship.

Senior Jones Flight — Blackshear Wins on a Playoff Finish

The Senior Jones Flight featured the weekend's tightest finish, with Lance Blackshear and Dan McNabb ending regulation play tied at 187 (+43).
Blackshear opened with 97 and improved to 90 Sunday. McNabb went in the opposite direction, shooting 94 in the first round and 93 in the second. Lance took the title with a playoff win.
Ed Machado finished third at 189, followed by Jarvis Peacock at 194.

Tiger Flight — Hanson Finishes on Top

Chris Hanson of Wake Forest, N.C., captured the Tiger Flight with a two-round total of 215 (+71).
Hanson shot 104 in the opening round and 111 Sunday to finish six shots ahead of Shannon Boston, who finished at 221.

Senior Tiger Flight — Hansley Takes the Title

Ken Hansley Jr. of Smithfield, N.C., won the Senior Tiger Flight, finishing at 207 (+63).
Hansley and Drew Tuckman were tied after Saturday's opening round at 107. Hansley then produced the decisive final-round performance, improving to 100 on Sunday while Tuckman matched his opening-round 107.

A Championship Weekend Full of Different Stories

From Tom Jannace's controlled victory in the Championship Flight to Javier Rivera's dramatic Sunday charge in the Hogan Flight, the Carolinas Tour Championship featured a wide variety of winning formulas.
Some champions relied on consistency. Others made their move on Sunday. And in the Senior Jones Flight, the competition could hardly have been closer, with Blackshear and McNabb finishing tied at 187.
Across the flights, the weekend at Carolina Trace produced strong competition, significant final-round movement and a fitting conclusion to the Carolinas Tour Championship.

Following play on Sunday the players enjoyed the annual awards ceremony/banquet at Carolina Trace CC. At the banquet, the 2026 Players of the Year were awarded for each of the flights.

Cutter Creek Golf Club Tournament Recap
Sunday, August 9, 2026 — Snow Hill, NC

The Carolinas US AM Tour made its way to Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, North Carolina, for Sunday's competition, where players battled through 18 holes for flight honors and bragging rights.

Championship Flight
Jason Gabriel delivered the round of the day, posting a 1-under 71 with a 34 on the front nine and 37 on the back to claim the Championship Flight title.
Eli Cooksey and Tom Jannace shared second place at 74 (+2). Cooksey was steady with matching 37s, while Jannace saved his best golf for the back nine, closing with a 34, which included an eagle on #18. Spurling Cook finished fourth at 75 (+3), completing a strong Championship Flight showing.

Player Flight
Dave Temple captured the Player Flight with an 80 (+8), overcoming a 42 on the front nine with a much-improved 38 coming home.
Andy Young finished runner-up at 81 (+9), just one stroke behind Temple. Pete Rusnack took third at 82 (+10), while Kevin Herbowy recorded an 88 (+16) for fourth.

Hogan Flight
James Shoemaker took top honors in the Hogan Flight with a 79 (+7). Shoemaker posted a 40 on the front nine before closing with a 39 to finish alone in first.
Jimmy Bailey and Javier Rivera battled to a tie for second at 88 (+16), both carding identical 43-45 rounds.

Senior Hogan Flight
Kerry Hunt emerged as the Senior Hogan Flight champion with a 79 (+7). Hunt's balanced 38-41 round was enough to finish two strokes clear of the field.
Michael O'Reilly placed second at 81 (+9) after rounds of 38 and 43. George Blanton finished third at 85 (+13).

Combined Hogan Flight
The combined Hogan standings produced a tie at the top, with James Shoemaker and Kerry Hunt both finishing at 79 (+7). Kerry Hunt took the title on the 4th playoff hole.

Palmer Flight
Donny Lee claimed the Palmer Flight championship with an 84 (+12), posting matching 42s on the front and back nine.
Daren Sweeting finished second at 86 (+14), just two strokes back.

Jones Flight
Isaac Navarro was the clear winner in the Jones Flight, shooting an 88 (+16). Navarro was particularly strong on the back nine, turning in a 40 after a 48 on the front.
Thomas Daglaris finished second at 97 (+25), while Miles Barfield placed third at 101 (+29).

Senior Jones Flight
Mike King took the Senior Jones Flight title with a 91 (+19). King posted a 44 on the front and 47 on the back to finish eight strokes ahead of the runner-up.
Tony Ferguson finished second at 99 (+27).

Tiger Flight
Ken Hansley Jr. captured the Tiger Flight with a 102 (+30). Hansley Jr. and Shannon Boston were separated by only two strokes, with Boston finishing second at 104 (+32).

SILVER CREEK GOLF CLUB RECAP

The Carolinas US AmTour made their first trip to the awesome Silver Creek Golf Club on Sunday!

CHAMP/PLAYER FLIGHT
Jason Gabriel of Claremont, NC, turned in the tournament's low round, shooting 36-38 for a 74 (+2) to take first place in the Champ/Player Flight. Tim Vannoy of Jefferson finished second with an 81 (+9).

HOGAN FLIGHT
Everett DeHart of Greensboro captured the Hogan Flight with an 83 (+11), posting a consistent 42-41 round. DeHart finished two strokes ahead of AnSILVERdy Parker, who placed second at 85 (+13) after rounds of 40 and 45.

PALMER FLIGHT
Roger Conner and Daren Sweeting finished tied atop the Palmer Flight at 87 (+15). Conner claimed first place, with a par on the second playoff hole.
Brandon Blevins and Thai Kwiatkowski also battled closely, tying for third at 89 (+17).

JONES/TIGER FLIGHT
Jake Brantley of Connelly Springs took the Jones/Tiger Flight with a 99 (+27), shooting 48 on the front nine and 51 on the back.
Connor Lawler finished second, just one stroke behind, with a 100 (+28).

Skybrook Golf Club Tournament Recap

The US Am Tour returned to Skybrook Golf Club on Sunday, where players faced a demanding layout that rewarded consistency and strong finishes. While scoring opportunities were available, avoiding costly mistakes proved to be the difference throughout each flight. Several competitors closed with impressive back-nine performances to either secure victories or make late charges up the leaderboard.

Championship Flight
Wes Jones delivered the round of the day, carding a 3-over-par 75 to claim both the Championship Flight title. After making the turn in 39, Jones caught fire on the inward nine with an even-par 36, separating himself from the field by five shots. Logan Garrison finished runner-up at 80 (+8).

Player Flight
Pudge Horwitz captured the Player Flight title with an impressive 82 (+10). His steady opening nine of 39 gave him an early advantage that he maintained throughout the round. Kenny Palmer finished second after posting an 84 (+12), while Ryan Calo rounded out the top three with an 85 (+13). Calo recorded one of the day's best closing nines, firing a 39 after an opening 46 to nearly catch the leaders.

Hogan Flight
Javier Rivera earned top honors in the Hogan Flight with an 83 (+11). Consistent golf on both sides of the course, including a 40 on the front and 43 on the back, secured a comfortable five-shot victory. Del Jackson finished second with an 88 (+16).

Palmer Flight
Daren Sweeting continued his strong season by winning the Palmer Flight with an 83 (+11). Balanced rounds of 41 and 42 highlighted a steady performance that kept mistakes to a minimum. Jordan Gonzalez claimed second at 85 (+13), followed by Brandon Blevins in third with an 89 (+17).

Senior Palmer Flight
Roger Conner led a competitive Senior Palmer Flight with an 84 (+12), using rounds of 41 and 43 to secure the victory. Donny Lee finished second at 88 (+16), while Kurt Greene earned third with a 94 (+22).

Jones/Tiger Flight
Lance Blackshear claimed the Jones/Tiger Flight championship with an 88 (+16), holding off Curtis Crews, who finished second at 95 (+23).

Devil's Ridge Golf Club Tournament Recap by Flight Sunday, July 19, 2026 – Holly Springs, NC

The USA Tour returned to Devil's Ridge Golf Club, where players battled a demanding layout that rewarded consistency and punished mistakes. Low scores were at a premium, with only one player finishing better than seven-over par. Each flight featured its own compelling story, from wire-to-wire victories to dramatic back-nine charges.

Championship Flight

Tom Jannace delivered the performance of the day, firing a 3-over 75 to claim the Championship Flight title by five strokes. Jannace was steady from start to finish, posting rounds of 37 and 38 while separating himself from the field with consistent ball striking and timely par saves. Spurling Cook finished runner-up at 80 (+8) after matching 40s on both sides.

Player Flight

Andy Young turned in one of the day's best rounds with a 79 (+7) to comfortably win the Player Flight. After an opening 40, Young closed with a 39 to secure a seven-shot victory and finish second overall in the tournament. The battle for second ended in a tie as both Dave Temple and Martha Mirman carded 86 (+14).

Hogan Flight

Kerry Hunt captured Hogan Flight honors after a strong 80 (+8), highlighted by an impressive outward nine of 39 that helped separate him from the competition. John Climenhaga finished second at 86 (+14).

Palmer Flight

The Palmer Flight produced the closest finish of the tournament as Patrick Ramsey and Thomas Nash shared top honors at 90 (+18). Thomas brought home the victory with a playoff win. Michael Fitzgerald finished just one stroke back at 91

Jones/Tiger Flight

Isaac Navarro led the Jones/Tiger Flight from start to finish, posting matching nines of 4343 for an 86 (+14) and a four-shot victory. Jarvis Peacock finished second with a 90, followed by Ken Hansley Jr. at 93.

Packard Headlines Strong Performances at Tanglewood Golf Club!

The Carolinas US Am Tour returned to Tanglewood Golf Club's Championship Course on Saturday, where a talented field battled one of the Piedmont's most respected layouts. When the final putts dropped, every flight crowned a deserving champion, with several players producing outstanding rounds and memorable finishes.

Championship Flight
Landon Packard captured the Championship Flight title with an outstanding 2-over-par 72, posting the only round in the field under 73. After making the turn at 37, Packard closed with an impressive 35 on the back nine to pull away from the field. Jason Gabriel finished runner-up at 73 (+3) after an opening 35.

Player Flight
Tim Vannoy turned in one of the day's best performances, firing a 73 (+3) to win the Player Flight. Vannoy was steady throughout the round with matching 36-37 nines. Lincoln Keller finished second at 85 (+15).

Hogan Flight
Kerry Hunt dominated the Hogan Flight with an excellent 76 (+6), finishing six shots clear of the competition. George Blanton took second after a tale of two nines, recovering from an opening 45 with an impressive 37 on the inward nine for an 82 (+12).

Palmer Flight
Donny Lee claimed the Palmer Flight championship with an 83 (+13) after rounds of 40 and 43. Michael Fitzgerald finished just three shots back in second at 86 (+16), while Daren Sweeting rallied with one of the best back nines of the day—a 39—to secure third at 87 (+17).

Jones/Tiger Flight
Allen Nichols earned the Jones/Tiger Flight victory with an 82 (+12), using a consistent 40-42 round to finish comfortably ahead of the field.

The Carolinas US Am Tour returned to Keith Hills Golf Club for the first time in many years and it created a challenging day of competition that produced a dramatic finish at the top of the leaderboard.

The Championship/Player Flight featured the day's strongest scoring. Tom Jannace claimed first place winning a playoff on the second playoff hole with a birdie after matching Jason Gabriel's 68 (-3) during regulation play. Jackson Henderson secured third place with a solid 76 (+5), while Justin Applebaum followed in fourth at 77 (+6).

The Hogan Flight produced one of the closest finishes of the tournament. Jordan Harless and Michael Bocanegra both posted rounds of 79 (+8), with Harless earning the victory in the playoff. Carmen Serbio finished just one shot behind at 80 (+9), keeping pressure on the leaders throughout the day.

Kerry Hunt delivered one of the best performances of the tournament, shooting 75 (+4) to win the Senior Hogan Flight and finish third overall in the entire field. John Climenhaga placed second at 82 (+11), while Nilo Mia and Andy Parker shared third place after matching rounds of 83 (+12).

Tom McLaughlin captured the Palmer Flight title with an 88 (+17). Daren Sweeting finished runner-up at 91 (+20), while Mark Witmer and Donny Lee tied for third at 93 (+22).

Charlie Hardee emerged victorious in the Jones/Tiger Flight with a 90 (+19), while Isaac Navarro claimed second place at 95 (+24).

Lance Blackshear posted an 89 (+18) to win the Senior Jones Flight. Tony Ferguson and Maurice Marshburn shared second place after both carded 97 (+26).

Overall, a great day back at Keith Hills Golf Club and congratulations to all of the flight champions.
