Guys, can I just take a minute to say thank you? I went all-in on this dream of being a wedding photographer when we moved here and found the most amazing community through it! To each of my clients, I have felt so incredibly honored to be brought into the room on your most treasured days. I cannot tell you the JOY is has brought me through these 7 years to capture your memories, to celebrate your milestones and to witness your love... To my vendor friends, it has been a delight to work alongside you, capture your talent, and take on the dance floor side-by-side... To my second shooter Anna (), thank you for serving my clients joyfully, caring for me graciously, and becoming my dear dear friend through thick and thin... Abigail is discovering her voice and has been squawking up a storm as she talks all day. She loves her sisters, bathtime, and today she laughed for the first time while I was chiding her for spitting up all over me 😂 It is so fun to see her personality start to peak through ❤️⁠

I’m back in business and off of maternity leave and loving getting to be behind the lense capturing playful couples in love and small business owning boss babes and so so grateful for the beauty of a business that is flexible with my season of life and supports my adorable girl gang. Thank you thank you thank you to all of you for being along for the ride!

There is something so exciting and precious to me about capturing the season of waiting that is pregnancy. There’s a sense of anticipation that rings in the air around a couple as they hold the bump that will one day be a baby in their arms. To spend an evening in the sunshine of Fort Monroe with Ruby and Chris as they awaited their little girl filled me up for daysss, I was truly grinning ear-to-ear as I edited these photos in the days after!

Lili and Isaiah are married now, but when we met back in April for their engagement photos I was struck by the beauty of that moment. To be with them on that day, in that special season of waiting for marriage, was to feel their excitement for all that is and was to come. I admire couples that can walk the line of living in the present while looking to the future; waiting on marriage with expectation, but not wishing away the preciousness of, and finding joy in, their current season. Lili and Isaiah did that well.

I'm Sarah! This is my adorable little family...my husband Alvin, and my daughters Lydia (2.5) and Miriam (1.5). Last week we spent a glorious 7 days in the Outer Banks and had the time of our lives... our girls loveee the beach like their mama!⁠💦

I'm a wedding and couples photographer based in Chesapeake, VA but shooting my way around Virginia (I am often in Richmond and Northern VA for wedding days) and hoping to expand more into the Outer Banks and NC! ⁠☀️

I love thrifting, ice cream, a good Netfilx night on the couch, hosting friends and family for meals and games, and exploring beautiful places with beautiful people (which is a major perk of being a photographer). Aside from being a photographer, I am a pastor's wife and mother, and I adore being both.⁠💛

Recently Alvin and I have been ending our days looking at each other and saying, "These are the good days." We know we are in a sweet sweet season right now and are trying to savor every minute! Thank you for the big and small ways you are a part of that! ⁠🥰

Hit "send" on this gorgeous engagement session gallery this morning and I had to share with you all--- Lili and Isaiah coordinated their session to fall the day of Isaiah's law school's ball (so they were extra glammed up!) and we had the best time touring Regent's gorgeous campus and capturing their beautiful love! Maybe one of these days I'll get around to a blog post, because I'm dying to show you more! 😍
