The Manos Gallery invites you to an unforgettable Masquerade Ball celebrating the 24 Minis Exhibition- a showcase of 24 miniature works of art created by 70 artists from our region and art community.
Held Inside the Aluminum City Arts, this special evening transforms the gallery into an immersive celebration of creativity, elegance, and theatrical expression.

Guests are invited to explore the 24 minis exhibition, mingle with artists and art lovers, enjoy music and refreshments, and small bites while embracing the mystery of the masquerade- all while helping raise funds for The Theater Factory.

🎭 We have new neighbors and we couldn’t be more excited!

James Joseph Designs and Photography and I are thrilled to welcome The Theatre Factory to its new home at the Aluminum City Arts campus in New Kensington, right beside our Two Visions Art Gallery!

Theatre and photography are both powerful forms of storytelling, so we can’t imagine a more fabulous neighbor. The Theatre Factory is preparing for its 31st season, and we look forward to all the creativity, energy, and new visitors it will bring to this growing arts community.

I just stopped by Two Visions Art Gallery and added heaps of new matted fine art prints to my exhibit!

Two Visions Art Gallery is located inside Aluminum City Arts in New Kensington and if you haven’t explored this incredible complex yet, you are truly missing out. It features the work of dozens of regional artists, including painters, potters, jewelry makers, authors, fine art photographers and so much more. Behind the Photograph

Dragonfly Muse

Sometimes capturing the photograph is an adventure all its own.

I was outside deadheading flowers in my perennial garden last summer when I spotted this dragonfly perched perfectly on top of a blazing star bloom. Of course, I didn’t have my camera with me.

I took the chance and ran into the house, hurried upstairs, put a battery in my camera, attached my macro lens, wiped off the lens and checked that both memory cards had room. I considered grabbing my tripod because I wanted the macro image to be tack sharp, but I couldn’t find it. It was in the garage.

So, tripod or no tripod, I ran back outside while adjusting my camera settings and hoping the dragonfly had not moved.

To my delight, it was still there and perfectly perched and waiting for me.

I raised my shutter speed a little higher than usual to help prevent camera shake, held the camera as steadily as I could and took the photograph. The natural light was beautiful, the colors were vibrant and the detail in the dragonfly was everything I had hoped to capture.

This image went on to win an award, and it remains one of my proudest macro photographs. It looks especially striking printed on metal, and I have been fortunate to sell several metal prints of it.

The experience reminded me of something every photographer knows: take the chance. Grab the camera. Forget the tripod if you must. Adjust the settings as you go, but try to make the photograph.

The only photograph you are guaranteed to miss is the one you never attempt.
