It's hard to coordinate outfits...

to find a time where everyone is together in between all the sports practices & school events...

to hear the kids complain about how their pants are scratchy...

to find a song everyone is ok listening to in the car on the way to the family photo session.

But you know what? It's worth it.

You'll look back & won't care about the arguments with your tween, or how annoyed your partner was with having to wear the fancier shirt. You'll look back & remember that was the year your kid lost their top tooth, the first year of braces, the time when frosted tips were cool again, and when the 90s came back & your kid wore the same pants you did when you were their age.

The photos will take you back & you'll be flooded with memories & warm feelings & you'll be so happy you booked the portrait session.

Junuary struck again, but luckily the rain stopped & we ended up with a perfectly overcast Seattle beach day! 😁 These kids & their parents were fun x infinity! They even tried that whole skip-with-mouth-open TikTok thing & it had us all busting up in laughter! 😂

Sidenote: I've been working with a lot of really amazing tweens over the past couple of months. Their humor, compassion & curiosity is combined with a desire to see a change in the world & it's giving me some hope I really need. ❤️

I remember wondering if the love I would feel for my second born would be just as deep as the love I felt for my first. I was scared it wouldn't be, but it's amazing how the heart grows & expands & I've learned there's always room for more deep love. What about you? Did you have the same fear?

Baby Bea - my goodness how you've filled my heart with even more love than I thought possible! How has one whole year gone by already? One year is such a short amount of time and yet I feel as if you've been mine for a lifetime. It's not the year I expected for you or for our family. You've been such a shining light during one of the darkest times I can remember. Your laughter has rung in our ears & filled our home with the brightest sunlight. You have brought us so much joy! That joyful feeling in my heart grows every day, just like you. You're no longer my little baby; you're my child who explores the world, who adventures outdoors no matter what the weather, who dances to the music perfectly on beat. You are my littlest love, my cuddle buddy who can't be too far from my arms. One day you'll stop asking me to carry you, but I'll carry you always in my heart. I love you ❤️
