Jessica Powell Photography I don’t just shoot a picture -I capture a story with my lens. Hey there! As a child I was active in 4H and this is where my love of horses began.

My name is Jessica Powell, an educator, photographer, and horse enthusiast from Eastern North Carolina. I started my journey with photography when I began a family 23 years ago, I became unsatisfied with generic commercial portrait sessions offered by chain retailers. As a parent I wanted photos that captured genuine moments of my family that showcased them participating in sports, play, and bondi

ng moments with each other. Equine photography became my passion when my youngest daughter began riding at the age of 4. I took my camera to the barn and began photographing her at lessons, clinics, and shows. Photography has become something that I not only love but also an outlet after a long week of teaching high school students. My goal is capturing the story of my clients whether that be between loved ones or pets, especially the bond between horse and rider in every photograph, whether it be in riding shots or creative portrait session. One of my popular opportunities is black background portraits that can be done with horses, dogs, or even show pigs!
