I have been photographing this family since they got married, and since then I have had the honor of documenting so many of their milestones. Now, I get to photograph them as a family of four, with their daughters eagerly anticipating the arrival of their baby brother.

We met at Lakeshore Park in Knoxville, Tennessee for their maternity session, spending time together that morning as they celebrated this season of expecting their baby boy. These are the sessions that mean so much to me because I am not just documenting a moment for a family. I am getting to preserve another chapter in their story.

As an East Tennessee maternity and family photographer based in Kingsport, it is such a gift to get to travel throughout the region capturing stories for families as they grow.

This extended family session in Kingsport, TN brought siblings and their spouses together, along with the newest little family member. I love that these photos capture more than just everyone looking at the camera with group photos and couples photos.

This sweet family met me in downtown Abingdon, Virginia for a sunset session to celebrate their baby boy turning one. He was all smiles for these.

This sweet family invited me to their home farm in Jonesborough, Tennessee for a family photography session, and it was every bit as lively and beautiful as you might imagine. Between the hugs, running through the field, and so much giggling, there was no shortage of genuine moments to photograph.

We ended our time together photographing their sweet dog who is getting older, along with their goats and chickens. Those are the moments that make family photography feel so meaningful to me. The little pieces of everyday life that you will want to remember long after your children have grown.

Family photos do not have to be perfectly posed or quiet. Sometimes the most beautiful images come from simply letting your family be themselves.

I am so grateful to document families throughout Jonesborough, Kingsport, and the East Tennessee area in the places that mean the most to them.

This Knoxville newborn session took place in their home. Big brother was so sweet with his new baby sister. We also spent time jumping and laughing on mom and dad’s bed. Those ended up being some of the sweetest moments and my favorite from their session.

I love in-home newborn sessions because there is no need to worry about getting everyone out the door or making your home look perfect. I bring my studio equipment with me, so I am not dependent on the lighting in your home. And honestly, I am much more concerned with documenting your family as you are than whether there are dishes in the sink or toys on the floor.

These sessions are relaxed and stress free. Your baby can stay close to home, your older children can be themselves, and we can make space for all the little moments that make your family special.

I want you to remember your session by how your baby looked in her nursery, while big brother loved on her, and every little moment in between. Just your family exactly as they are.

I’ve had the honor of photographing this family through some of the sweetest seasons of their lives. I photographed their wedding, then their first baby, and now I’ve had the privilege of documenting the anticipation of their second little one here in the Tri Cities.

For this session, Mom wanted something a little different for her maternity portraits. Since their first little one is still so young, we decided to keep things close to home and make the session as easy and stress free as possible.
Their baby’s nursery has the most beautiful dark blue wall, so I brought in a few pieces of my studio setup and turned the nursery into a little portrait studio right in their home. It ended up being such a beautiful backdrop for these portraits, and I loved that we were able to create something that felt personal to their family.

Afterward, we made a short trip to a nearby park to finish their session and give them a completely different look. Two locations, two different feels, and neither required them to spend the day traveling around with a young toddler.

There is something so special about being welcomed back into a family’s story again and again. Getting to photograph their wedding, their first child, and now this next chapter is something I don’t take for granted.

I’m so grateful they trusted me to document this season, and I can’t wait to see their family grow once again.

My little mama heart is bursting with this sweet mommy and me maternity session 🥹. The sweetest moments are the ones that feel so messy in the moment, but after make you realize the true joy of motherhood. It’s on the hard days that I hope you go back and look at these moments to realize you’re raising precious souls. You’re doing just fine ❤️

Did you know that I offer in home photography sessions? If the thought of getting everyone ready and out the door stresses you out, I can bring the studio to you.You do not need a ton of space for these portraits. I can bring a backdrop or use a wall in your home to turn your space into a studio.

I remember when my child was younger, the preparation involved in having our pictures made gave me so much anxiety. The added worry about whether my child would cooperate during the session felt completely overwhelming. Almost to the point where I wouldn’t even want to take photos at all.

I had the honor of capturing these precious, sweet newborn moments in my Kingsport studio, and it reminded me just how deeply grateful I am.

Being able to wake up every morning and have a career that provides for my family the way that it has is something I cherish. Words cannot describe what a privilege this is, and I do not take it for granted. I am so thankful to live in a country that provides the freedom and opportunity to build a career that allows me to express my creativity and preserve your most cherished memories.

Celebrating the independence of this nation feels especially meaningful when I get to witness these precious beginnings. Wishing each of you a happy Fourth of July.

I am so happy for Lexi and Tyler. It was such a joy to visit their home in Erwin TN and document these first few days with their precious baby. Having had the honor of photographing their wedding several years ago, it feels incredibly special to see their family grow and to capture this new chapter for them.
