It’s been a wild couple of months in my world, and I’m grateful every single day for technology & companies that make my life easier- I am pretty much working on recovering from severe burnout and I know it’s a slow, slow process. Of course, I’m a chaos nugget so healing my creativity means opening a different facet of business…

But here to share codes for things that have truly been life changing for my burnout:

First- Marley Spoon. I don’t have the brain power to grocery shop or make decisions on what we eat. This is a game changer for my decision fatigue and for not just eating takeout and crap, or my go-to meals that I’ve cooked 100 times over. We had started with Hello Fresh and Peet and I found that the portions always left us just 10% still hungry, and switching to Marley Spoon changed that completely. Second: Instacart. I do not have the patience for people or the grocery store to get the things I need to fill in our fridge around our Marley Spoon meals. 20/10 recommend if you’re not using it already to just not have to think. And third, but not least: Stitch Fix.
I’ve been an avid Stitch Fix user for almost 6 years, and I deeply love the things I get from them. I hate shopping in store (hello, being curvy means limited options) and in the midst of me being burnt out, I mostly try to get dressed every day so I can have some “normalcy” and it feels like I have my life together. Highly recommend if you’re looking to find good quality pieces for your wardrobe, or even looking for capsule wardrobe pieces.

I will remember this moment forever - telling my client, "We'll see a bighorn sheep, even though I know how unlikely that is."

Growing up, I thought the desert was just so ugly and boring because I was used to soaring mountains, miles of pine trees and granite, and the epic beauty of Lake Tahoe at my doorstep. As an adult, I've learned to love the desert in a way I never thought, and watching it come alive as the sun goes down is incredible in every possible way. Nevada, you continue to make me fall in love with you despite all my attempts otherwise.

The rarest of moments for me: actually having the proper lens with me to take a wildlife photo, seeing as Someplace Images is based around portraits. Fun fact, he's actually in the background of quite a few of her stunning images as well. 🤯

Yesterday was an absolutely incredible day!

What a freaking EXPERIENCE when there’s no judgement in a room. When the biggest insecurities that we generally have about our bodies are just surpassed by the general joy and honest excitement of playing dress up as adult women. And maybe it sounds “childish” to describe it as playing dress up, but letting the really fabulous and fun inner child out to play dress up with your friends and just squeal and oooh and ahhhh over one another… as women we need that support! As HUMANS we need that type of positivity and support- and even better that we were cheering and supporting one another for existing beautifully in the bodies that we have RIGHT NOW, bodies that are all shapes and sizes. That support will truly keep my spirit high for weeks for the fact that it EXISTS. That women are here for one another and are not to be pitted against each other for who wore it best or who has the best figure… it’s 2023. We’re doing support and self love, not being mean girls.

Someplace for Every Body is a podcast about BODIES. About the way we feel about our bodies, our shared experiences around body shame, around pressure put on our bodies from ALL directions. The pressure of being too fat, too thin, too curvy, too skinny, too tall, too small…. The experience of being human in our bodies.

​​There is so much pressure placed on us as humans to fit the mold that society has set—I'm here to break it. This is Someplace for Every Body... and I mean Every Body... a podcast about bodies, the way we feel about them, and our shared experiences around body shame.

In each episode, we'll be diving into real, heartfelt conversations about the pressures of being too fat, too thin, too curvy, too skinny, too tall, too small…. The experience of being human in our bodies. We’ll be walking through how to include our “flaws” and begin acceptance of our bodies so they can be a vessel we love.

Tune in every week to hear from real humans and join me in making moves towards body neutrality in society as I equip you with tools and resources to make big moves in your own community.

My heart has been heavy these past few days, and I've been searching for the words to say. I still don't really know what to say, but I'm going to try.

For those that know me personally, you know that Tahoe is my home. The house I grew up in and my studio are both in North Lake, which (at this time) are still safe. But if you know Tahoe, if you grew up in Tahoe...you know.

I love my studio. But it's just stuff. Lingerie is replaceable. People are not.

Watching the evacuations and the ever-updating fire maps has impacted me. It has impacted my friends, my family, my community. There is so much anxiety, dread, grief, fear. If you are feeling all the feelings: know you are not alone.

To the brave first responders, firefighters, and frontline workers facing this head-on: thank you. Thank you for doing what you can to save our home.

Tahoe. My heart is with you.
