Not every week looks like this. I play so many roles in what I do. One day I’m capturing newborns between feedings, then I’m chasing littles around trying to get smiles and cuddles, the next I’m working an 8 hour wedding, dodging 2 rainstorms and brainstorming ways to give the bride and groom the best experience they deserve while also creating lasting photos to leave their legacy.

Feeling so blessed to continue this business when sometimes I don’t know where it’s going I know the Creator does. He has a plan and I’m just seeing it through and trying to love on people along the way. “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

If you haven’t seen yet I will be stepping into a new studio space soon in downtown King with and Christina Mendenhall Kiger. We have some exciting things ahead for our community and I can’t wait to soon offer in studio sessions again!

What is captured at an in home newborn session?

1. The nursery details. From the crib to the little tiny baby books. It will all be documented.
2. The baby. Of course all the baby details will be captured. Toes, nose, yawns, cries. It’s all so sweet and they change so fast.
3. Where they call home. I love getting to take a few outside with their new home in the background when I get a chance. It’s also a great way to change up their surroundings if they are getting a little fussy.
4. Lots of family snuggles. Documenting every baby snuggle is my ultimate goal. These are moments that mean so much so we will make sure to get lots of snuggles in.

Christina and I have a special place in our hearts for mothers. We have spent countless hours talking all things motherhood and lifting each other up and spurring each other on in this journey. So getting to capture these mamas and their children at our Mother’s Day minis was truly a gift. I always leave so thankful when capturing a mama with her littles. There is just something about that sweet relationship that can’t be put into words. It’s probably my favorite story to tell.
