Lighting up the rink — in studio.

Proud to share these portraits of Quinnipiac Women’s Ice Hockey captain , shot during an seminar where I demonstrated how I use dynamic strobe lighting to capture the strength and presence of powerful athletes.

Huge thanks to Mia for being an incredible subject — and more importantly, a true role model for young hockey players across Connecticut and beyond.

Wishing Captain Lopata and the Bobcats all the best this season! Their home opener vs. UConn is THIS SATURDAY at QU — and tickets are FREE.

Huge congratulations to Maya Lebad on being drafted to the and joining ! Watching your journey from standout to pro athlete has been nothing short of inspiring.

Maya is not only a powerhouse on the ice, but a kind, down-to-earth, generous person off the ice. I had the privilege of photographing her at the Coppola Photography studio while teaching a lighting seminar — and she lit up the space in every way.

Grateful to have captured a few moments with her just before this next big chapter began. Wishing you all the success and strength as you hit the ice with Montreal. Your grace, grit, and generosity — especially to my daughters — won’t be forgotten.

Today is National Girls & Women in sports day! We’re celebrating with some powerful portraits of young female athletes in the Shoreline Sharks Hockey League.

Shoreline Sharks Hockey, a non-profit organization dedicated to offering developmental and competitive hockey programs for girls ages 4-19, is the largest girls' hockey program in Southern Connecticut.

More work created ! During the Lens & Light conference, we had the pleasure of setting up a photo bay to create experimental lighting scenarios — and the added drama of some incredible SFX makeup!

This shoot was all about creativity and the opportunity to try new things — so we gave Charlotte a very broad creative concept and she ran with it, adhering prosthetic scales to Mia’s face, making her look like an alien sea monster.👽🪸We leveled up the drama with gels and the Westcott x Lindsay Adler’s Optical Spot/Gobo kit to create the intense lighting and tree branch background elements.
