Closing out August feeling so grateful for every family & couple who trusted me with a piece of their story!

I’ll be a little quiet around here this week until my next sessions on September 8th. My lil dude is having a small surgery, so I’m giving myself permission to put photography down for a bit and just be mama 🤍

All current galleries are still expected to be delivered on time! Thank you for being patient!

A little business update. 🤍

Over the years, I've loved surprising clients with sneak peeks after their sessions. They were never included with your booking—just a little extra whenever I could make it happen.

The reality is, after a session I would come home and immediately start culling through hundreds of images just to get a few sneak peeks out. I personally hand-select every image and hand-edit each one. I don't use AI to cull my galleries (no judgment to photographers who do—it's just not part of my workflow). It takes time.

Creating sneak peeks also meant putting aside the full gallery I was already editing for another client. It slowed down my workflow and often had me back on my computer instead of spending that time with my own family. As most of you know, I stay home with my little ones too.

Moving forward, I'll be putting all of that time and energy into completing full galleries instead. My goal is to continue delivering your galleries within my 2-week turnaround while giving every session the care and attention it deserves. Potentially sooner, we will see how this goes!

When I photograph families, I notice the same thing every single time...

The moment the kids light up the most aren't when they are told to smile

They happen when you play!! Tickle, run around, play games, get a little silly! Just simply love on your kids.

Truthfully, those are the moments I hope they carry with them long after the photos are framed!

1 in 700 babies are born with a cleft lip, cleft palate, or both! July is also Cleft & Craniofacial Awareness Month. Some new things I learned from her mama!

Getting to know this sweet family reminded me just how important it is to preserve moments like these. Tomorrow is another step in her journey, and I'm so happy they have these photos to remember this sweet smile just as it is.

If you have a moment, I'd love if you could send a little extra love, positive thoughts, or prayers her way for tomorrow. I know her family would appreciate it more than you know!

I'm seeing this family again soon, and it had me looking back at their maternity photos we did last year 🤍

Between this photo, their newborn photos, and now their little one is already about 8 months old! I swear the time between sessions goes by way too fast.

One of my favorite parts of this job is getting to watch families grow and tell a little more of their story every time we get together!! I am so excited to see them again!
