✨ A LITTLE LIFE UPDATE…. ON FILM ✨
Quietness is something I never truly understood before. I don’t think I ever considered how much growth or healing could come from simply… being quiet.
For the past few months—maybe even the past year—that’s all I wanted to be. Just quiet.
This page has always meant more to me than just a place to showcase my work. It’s about connection. It’s about all of you who have been here since this little dream of mine was just a hobby. A place to share wins, celebrations, and the joys of life. And for a long time, that’s exactly what it was.
Until I went quiet. Until we lost him.
There’s something surreal about having the foundation of your life pulled out from under you. When everything that made you you suddenly disappears.
For us, it was a series of difficult moments that ultimately ended in the sudden, devastating loss of my dad. And when that happened, my world went numb. Nothing made sense.
So, I did the only thing I knew how to do—I went into caregiver mode. I put all my energy into my mom, who was now without her husband of over 40 years. I pushed aside my own grief, did my work, and focused on her.
But something still wasn’t right.
How could I share joy when all I felt inside was sadness?
How could I encourage you to find happiness when I wasn’t even sure if I would ever be okay?
I wrestled with this for months, until I finally accepted that grief doesn’t follow a rulebook. That what everyone says is true—healing looks different for each of us. And so, I allowed myself to be quiet. Unapologetically.
Fast forward to now, and here we are.
In this time, I’ve learned something important: I can’t pour into others if I don’t take care of myself. I can’t encourage you to set boundaries if I don’t stand by mine. And joy? It’s not just a fleeting feeling—it’s a muscle that needs to be exercised every day.
So, I worked on me. I surrounded myself with incredible people who lifted me up, who reminded me that even in darkness, there is something worth fighting for.
And that’s what I wanted to share with you today.
Even in the quiet, there is beauty.
Even when your world feels shattered, you will be okay.
ILY 🩷
