All About Swaddling:

Purpose: It recreates the secure, warm feeling of the womb and helps calm the startle reflex.
Safety: The blanket should be snug around the chest, but loose enough at the hips and legs to allow normal movement and prevent hip dysplasia.
Timing: You must stop swaddling as soon as the baby shows signs of learning to roll over, typically around 2 to 4 months old.

The Naming Bowl: Did you know that this is a Nigerian custom? During ceremonies like the Yoruba Ìso omo Lórúko, a central bowl or tray is placed near the parents. As family members, grandparents, and well-wishers step up to give the baby a unique name, they drop money into the bowl.
