I'll give you one guess what Temperance's favorite color is... 💖
Yep—PINK! And not just any pink... hot pink! The second she showed me her outfit lineup, I was obsessed because I'm a sucker for hot pink too. It was giving all the fun, confident senior vibes, and I knew this session was going to be a good one.
Well... Mother Nature had other plans.
In nearly 10 years of photographing people, I've never been completely rained out of a session. But as soon as we made it up into the hills, the skies opened up into an absolute downpour. We were so disappointed! Instead of calling it quits, we headed back into town where it was dry enough to salvage a few photos.
And honestly? Those ended up being some of my favorites.
We stopped by the old elementary school where Temperance had her very first day of kindergarten pictures taken in front of the animal cement cut outs that are now at the New Frontier School. She brought along her favorite childhood stuffed animals and her little backpack, recreating a piece of her story all these years later. Those are the kinds of photos I love most—the ones that mean something. The ones that freeze memories you never want to forget.
A week later, we gave it another shot, and this time we were rewarded with the most beautiful evening, blue skies, and the perfect golden light.
It may have taken us two sessions to tell Temperance's story, but every single minute was worth it. Congratulations, Temperance! I can't wait to see all the amazing places life takes you. 💕
