Mama to be, let’s talk about booking your newborn session! 🤍

One of the most common questions I get is, “When should I book my newborn photos?” My answer? Before baby arrives!

My families reserve their newborn session based on their due date, but we don’t choose an exact session date just yet. Once your sweet baby arrives and you’re home and settling in, we’ll find the perfect time to capture those first precious days together.

Babies come on their own timelines, arriving early or fashionably late! 😉 To make sure I can accommodate my families whenever their little ones decide to make their debut, I accept only a limited number of newborn sessions each month.

So if you’re expecting, I encourage you to reach out by your second trimester to reserve your spot!

These days are fleeting and I would love to help you remember them forever. 🤍

In-home newborn session or studio newborn session? Let’s chat about it. 🤍

One of the first questions I ask my clients is, “How’s the natural light in your nursery?”

Most parents are surprised when I tell them that the very first thing I do when I walk into their nursery is turn off every overhead light and lamp. Natural light is what creates those soft, timeless images you see throughout my portfolio, while artificial lighting casts tones that don’t photograph as beautifully.

Does that mean we can’t create beautiful images if your home doesn’t have a lot of natural light? Absolutely not! We can still create a gorgeous gallery together. I just like to help families understand that the final look may be a little different than what you see in my brightest in-home sessions.

If you’re unsure whether your home is the right fit, I’m always happy to chat, look at photos of your space, and help you decide what’s best for your family.

The good news? DFW is full of beautiful natural-light studios that I love photographing in, so if a studio feels like the better option, we have plenty of wonderful choices.

There’s no right or wrong choice, it’s simply about choosing the space that will give you the images you love most. 💛

What does a newborn session look like with a toddler?

Odds are you’ll find me singing their favorite songs, making silly faces, following them around, letting them show me their favorite things, and giving them ALL the time they need to love on their new baby.

At the beginning of the session, I always try to snag that sweet, smiling at the camera photo. ✨

And then?

We play.
We cuddle.
We tickle.
We chase.
We let them be silly.
We let them love on their new sibling.

Because your toddler doesn’t need to sit perfectly still and “say cheese” for an hour. They just need to be themselves.

And honestly, that’s when the magic happens. ✨

Expecting a little one? 🤍

One of the questions I get asked most is, “When should I book my newborn session?”

August was absolutely booming with babies, and as much as I wish I could squeeze every last-minute inquiry onto my calendar, it’s just not always possible in this season of life. 🥹

So here’s how newborn booking works with me:

I take on 4–5 newborn families each month so I can give each family the time, care, and attention they deserve. When you book, I reserve your spot based on your due date — so you don’t have to know your exact session date just yet!

Once your little one arrives, you’re home, and you’re starting to settle into life together, we’ll choose a session date that feels right for your family. 🤍

✨ Dreaming of those sleepy, snuggly, curled-up newborn photos? The sweet spot is within the first two weeks.

✨ Want more eye contact, expressions, and a little more personality? 4–8 weeks is beautiful, too!

Truly, there is no “wrong” time to document your baby.

Most importantly, my priority is YOU. If you need a little extra time to rest, recover, and soak in those first weeks, I’m here. We’ll work around what feels best for you and your family. 🤍
