“Solitude”
I often pass this tree on the way up to the mountains, and I always envision some epic scene with surreal weather. Well, it doesn’t happen while I’m there, but this was beautiful. Happy my wife and toddler let me sit for 30min crafting the scene. A hint of light peaked through. Beautiful little tree.

"Lyrid Meteors & The Milky Way Over Middle Falls"

Trying to get out of a rut and make use of the extra time I have. On the road at 2am with 2.5 hours of sleep for the 1.5 hour drive down, but excited about our first true clear night here in upstate NY. Good french press coffee and some tunes to get me down to Letchworth. A challenging photograph due to the wind and mist, but it was well worth the peace of mind of being out there. I had to bring out the meteors in post processing because they were a little faint. This image is 14 images stacked to improve the signal-to-noise ratio for a cleaner image

"Changing Time"

Boy, having a baby really changes time. This picture was captured a couple weeks ago after a clearing storm, still raining and a bit of wind which made keeping the lens clean for this panorama difficult. I was coming home from a job I did near this iconic tree and the light started to look good...I made it point to hang around. It's the first time in a long time I've had any desire to get out and shoot, and doggonit I was going finish it. Today I had a tiny bit of "free" time. Unfortunately I have, what is adding up to thousands of pictures on my hard drives, that are from past trips and adventures that have never been looked at, and this "free" time made me realize how lax I am with my pictures. Hoping to revisit my Iceland stuff soon. Have a great day!
