HOW TO INCLUDE FAMILY IN YOUR ELOPEMENT:
~
1️⃣ INVITE THEM
Although most couples choose to have the day for just them, you can still have an intimate and meaningful experience with those most important to you. This typically still involves having 10 guests or less to maintain a less stressful experience.

2️⃣ HAVE A SEND OFF DINNER BEFORE OR RECEPTION AFTER
This option is a great way to celebrate you two without being at the actual ceremony. A good idea is to schedule this the night or two before you leave or when you get back from your destination. Not only will they be able to send you off with lots of love, but will also allow you to have the best of both worlds.

3️⃣ HAVE FAMILY WRITE YOU LETTERS TO READ
Want an adventurous day just the two of you but want to feel family’s support? Setting time to read letters before you elope is a great way to do this!
~
4️⃣ SHOP FOR WEDDING DRESS TOGETHER.
Another fun way to involve family is to let them help you shop for your dress. This way they are able to be a part of the experience even if they won’t be there the day of.
~
5️⃣ HIRE A PHOTOGRAPHER AND VIDEOGRAPHER
This one is especially important no matter what kind of wedding you have. But especially for elopements who don’t have family there the day of. Not only will you want to have those memories for yourself, but also to let family “experience” the day also.
There are other countless ways to involve family if you’re wanting to elope, but I hope these few ideas were helpful!

I can’t wrap my head around this truth.

It says in Psalm 93:4, “Mightier than the waves of the sea, is His love for you.” As strong, ruthless, reckless, endless, magnificent, vast, deep, and intense as the ocean is, His love for me is still more than that. This kind of love is hard for me to fathom. But I think that’s the point isn’t it? Our inability to comprehend that kind of love doesn’t change the reality of what it is. And what a sweet reminder he gives us then to say, “Look my Beloved, at how mighty the waves are as they crash against those cliffs. My love for you is so much more! It runs deeper and stronger than you can ever imagine, and I want to remind you of that every time you see those waves crash.”

You know something else it’s crazy?! His love isn’t contingent on my performance. Lately I’ve been wrestling with him, and he welcomes that. He’s not a Father who only loves us when we don’t question him. He loves every opportunity to ease our hearts and satisfy us with good, even in hard seasons.

Don’t beat yourself up.

You’ve been through an incredibly challenging year. 2020 has been a year of craziness that seems to keep getting more wild.
•
You’ve likely experienced loss of some sort and had to adjust in ways you never thought you would.
•
Let this be encouragement to you to stop scrolling. To stop looking up things on the internet. To stop reading about the mass amounts of stuff out of our control adding to the stress.
•
We serve a good, just, & sovereign God. He cares about how you’re feeling overwhelmed and caught up in the chaos.
•
Rather than feeling down about it all or guilty for how much it’s affecting you, just walk away and spend some time with Him. Get close and let Him comfort you.
•
I know I need to. 🙋🏻‍♀️ I’ll be taking a week off to unplug, breathe, get outside, meditate, and rest my mind. Will you join me?

One thing I didn’t know when starting photography was how hard it was to run a business!

Heck. I just thought if I could take pretty photos, then the rest was easy. In my mind, I only had to master making beautiful images to stay afloat.

Boy was I wrong! Being a creative business owner is hard and a lot of work. It’s basically running an entire company by yourself.

I’m in charge of marketing, content creation, web design, accounting, scheduling, HR, sales, promotion, production, communications, editing services, design management, and more! One person does the job of several, and must wear many different hats.
✨
With the constant list to do more within all the demands, it can feel a bit overwhelming and downright crazy. Anyone else owning a small business ever wanna pull your hair out?

But guess what? You’ve got this! 💪🏼You are capable, smart, and fully able to be successful and thrive! Don’t beat yourself up if things are left undone. Behind every business is a human being who probably needs to give yourself more grace and space to breathe. You are handling a lot!

We’ve experienced the lowest of lows in our marriage, and spent YEARS questioning its purpose.
But I’m here to tell you that we’ve been through the fire and have come out victorious on the other side!
You see, we now wholeheartedly believe that marriage is one of the greatest tools used to grow, challenge, and change each of you for the better! The insight, clarity & growth we’ve experienced about ourselves, each other, and most importantly Jesus, has transformed every area of our life through our journey. And I wouldn’t trade an easier past for what we now have.
The very design and nature behind the joining of two souls is filled with sooo much intention and something we don’t take lightly. We are HONORED to be part of such an important part of your life, and can’t WAIT to celebrate with you!

In case you missed it:
My books are now open for WACO, TX and surrounding areas (ANY of TEXAS for that matter). ANY state except Hawaii actually for October and September. ✈️
Hawaii is still closed to travelers, making it difficult to book there. So my bags are packed and I’m ready for sessions, elopements, and weddings for any of you who always wanted to book something. Travel fees are WAY less expensive since I’m traveling from here and I can’t wait to get you some beautiful memories!
Wanna go do an adventure session somewhere epic here on the mainland? Let’s do it! I’ll travel to any state or national park. 🏜
