I have in progress: Sunset Landscape (in acrylic)

The sky is nearly complete, next are some happy hills and trees. The lofty goal is to paint a cougar atop the cliff that currently looks a bit like brownies. 😑

I love ❤️ painting, but it’s been a very long time since I actually picked up a paint brush. Please be kind lol 🫶

Did you know that about one-third of everything we eat depends on the Western Honey Bee? 🐝

While almonds get a lot of attention for being completely dependent on managed hives, they aren't the only ones.

Here are some other major foods that rely heavily on these hardworking pollinators:

🐝 Blueberries & Cherries: These crops depend on honey bees for roughly 90% of their pollination, meaning commercial yields would plummet without them. 🍒 🫐

🐝 Apples, Pears & Peaches: Orchard fruits need bees to move pollen between different tree varieties to ensure a successful harvest. 🍎 🍐 🍑

🐝 Cucumbers, Squash & Pumpkins: These heavy-vine crops rely on insect intervention to transfer pollen for full, healthy growth. 🥒 🎃

🐝 Alfalfa & Clover: While we don't eat these directly, vast fields of them rely on bees—and they are essential feed crops for dairy and beef cattle! 🐄 🐮
