Jordan & Derek’s wedding at Bedell Cellars live on Wedding Chicks®
Greenport has been a part of their story for nearly a decade, so getting to document this day felt especially fitting. Planned by Annie and her team at Alongside Annie | NY • Destination Wedding & Event Planner. Shades of green throughout, wild florals by wildandbirch, a Danielle Frankel gown, and a reception that felt like the best dinner party you’ve ever been to.
But what I keep coming back to is the ceremony.
The skies were blue all morning, and then, just as their officiants began speaking about the people who couldn’t be there, the rain came down. And I mean came down. Everyone was soaked, the team was working through it, and Jordan and Derek stood there surrounded by people who weren’t going anywhere. Then the rain stopped, the sky cleared, and two rainbows appeared.
I don’t think anyone needed to say much about what that moment meant.
What I loved most about these two was how present they were for all of it. The weather, the portraits, the party, the little in-between moments. Nothing needed to be perfect for them to enjoy it. They just wanted to be there, together, with their people.
And maybe that’s what made the day so good to photograph. Not just how everything looked, but how it felt to be there.
Jordan and Derek, thank you for letting me be a part of it.
