Bored on a Sunday so I went snapping. Kaplan, La. Catholic cemetery. Experimenting with vignette tool on a few of the statue pictures. The tattered flag just reminded me of the shape the country is in in 2021. But still hanging in there. The angel is titled "Difficult Day" and the Christ (long view) is titled "Stairway to Heaven".

"The Lightness of Being"
Most people probably don't know there is a tiny Methodist cemetery that exists right in the heart of Lafayette. Despite traffic passing all around it remains incredibly sheltered and peaceful. This is a detail from a beautiful, rather large statue that anchors the cemetery. Whether you believe in an afterlife or not, it's an emotional sculpt.

Ten years of life isn't much. But at least she got her picture taken. The cool thing about cemeteries is that it isn't always the fancy monuments that catch your eye. This snap was taken in a very old (back to the 1800's) Masonic cemetery I stumbled on one day in Abbeville, La. I plan to go back at dusk or early morning (hopefully with fog) to pay her another visit. I'm not a Mason, but I don't think they will mind.
